Itchy Palms, Fingers, Scalp, Feet...

I'm at a loss! For the past, I dunno let's say two weeks, I've had an extremely itchy scalp, to the point where if I scratch it, i get dry skin under my fingernails. I figure this may be something I can solve with Neutrogena's T-Gel shampoo (will be buying hopefully tonight!).
However, about a week ago, I started suffering from extremely itchy palms and fingers, and just last night my feet. Oh - and the itching mainly comes only at nighttime?
The reason I'm asking for some help is, there is nothing visible to see. There are no bumps, my skin is not dry (at least not that I can tell? I moisturize every day, I have not changed any cleansers, household products, etc.) and once i start scratching, it gets red and hot.
Can anyone give me some sort of relief, or advice? It would be greatly apprecited!

What can I do next?

Call the dr. just in case. I know there is a condition in pregnancy that can cause this that is liver related and should be evaluated by a dr.

I get these itchy spells and I give my hand and arms a dead sea mud treatment. I purchased some 100% natural dead sea mud and I give my self a treatment and them apply vit. E oil to those area. It really seems to work.

Dead Sea mud is great for so many things with skin. And when I get itchy scalp I use shampoo with tea tree oil. Ointment with tea tree oil is great for dry itchy patches on the skin.

It could be a number of things. Im an esthetician (skin care) and I see this kind of thing alot. Ususally if it is in one area it turns out to be a reaction to a certain product like shampoo or hand lotion. Since you have it in three very differant areas it may not be that. It may be an internal allergy. Medicine change, diet, or something like that. On the other hand, eczema can occur out of the blue sometimes too. Its a dry itchy reddness that can occure anywhere on the body. It can be mild or very severe. Some ppl find at home solutions for it but i would go to my family doc or even a dermatologist just to e sure. They will usually provide a cream or reccomenda shampoo. Oh and since its only at night, maybe checking what you wash your sheets in would help. Hope this helps.

This is very strange, my almost 5 year old daughter has started doing the exact same thing. I can't figure it out. I have tried switching laundry soap, but she is still itching. The only thing that has worked is allergy medicine.

Except for the scalp part, that's the sort of reaction I have to certain laundry detergents. You could try taking Benedryl or another antihistimine before bed for some immediate relief from the scratching.

I had a really bad allergic reaction last summer and had to take steroids to get rid of it. But I mention it because it was caused by a combination of products - my doctor believes it was the combination of sunscreen, detergent, and sun exposure that caused the initial reaction. None of those products alone had caused me any trouble before (or since, although I did change the sun screen just in case). I wonder if you also have some sort of reaction to a combination of products?

I have something similar when I have too much caffeinne. If, by chance, you have a lot of caffeinne... I'd see what happens if you cut back. Good luck!

i have the same problem occasionally..all the itchiness and it only occurs at night. i've seen my derm. and asked my cousin who's a nurse and its strange, but both of them actually said its allergies bc it only occurs once in awhile and lasts a short period. i've never really tried anything bc i just usually suffer through it, but i would see a derm or dr. they might be able to prescribe something for relief. maybe try oatmeal baths like from aveeno in the meantime?
