Irregular Periods - Chicago,IL

After I had my second child, I had very heavy periods for a long time. About 5 months ago, they stopped being so heavy, but in the last 4 months, they have become super irregular. I usually get my period every 26-29 days, without error. Three months ago it came on day 31, then day 24, and now again on day 31. Since I am trying to get pregnant, this is driving me nuts!

In the last few months, I haven't been getting discharge around when I should be ovulating. In fact, I am doubting I am even ovulating. With my other pregnancies, I got pregnant immediately. We have only been trying for a few months, but I feel like something is wrong. Like I said, I swear I haven't been ovulating. I usually get lots of discharge and it is obvious to me that I am ovulating. None of this is happening.

Anyone have anything similar happen?

If it matters, I only had 1 period between pregnancies before, and I've had my period back for about 13-14 months now. And like I said, it was super heavy for 9-10 months.

What can I do next?

Definitely sounds like it's time for a check-up and a blood draw, especially if you are TTC. The sooner you get your body back in check and regular, the sooner you will probably get pregnant.

Could be hormones, diet, or another issue going on.

I have PCOS, so I've had abnormal periods since I first started, unless I was on b/c pills or taking metformin (a diabetic medication).

Ah, nevermind, I looked at you SWH from yesterday, I'm sorry. :(
I know our hormonal patterns change throughout our lives, right? Maybe it's time for a check up?
