Ok, I gained about 20 pounds the last 6 months due to cancer. I had my treatment, and the surgery...all is good! EXCEPT the fact that I gained 20 pounds because the cancer was in my thigh, and I couldn't work out! YES...I am thankful for being Cancer free---I am blessed! However, I want to lose the weight before my nieces HUGE wedding on March 1st. My whole family will be there, and I want to look as great as I feel. Please help me,Moms! I used weight watchers before my wedding and had great luck. It is super easy to follow and easy to live around, even with kids because it is normal food that the whole family can enjoy!

Hi A.,
What you really want to do is lose the weight in a healthy manner while you're getting great nutrition and repairing your body. There is a weight loss Battle Plan on this website that will ensure you meet all of your nutritional needs while also losing weight: https://www.phporder.com/?ID=LivingHealthy.
Go to the education section and download the Battle Plan for Weight Loss, there is also a very healthy one for fasting - this isn't a fast where you'll lose muscle mass - you'll actually gain many health benefits from this fast as well as losing weight. Good luck!
Best,
W.

If you can discipline your self to fast (detox) for 30 days that would be your best option - you can do a daniel fast of just fruits and vegetables. You will feel much better and be healthier than ever before and see inches lost quickly.

No meat, fish, chicken, white flour, Yeast, pasta, rice, bread or sugar AND NO CAFFEINE OR SODA (EVEN DIET).

ONLY VEGETABLES AND FRUITS (including 100% fruit juice no concentrate) - use sea salt and stevia (plant based sugar). Walnuts and Almonds are good.
I drink TO GO Greens from Vitamin Shoppe or GNC day and night. Also I made the Frozen Steamers vegetables with olive oil and sea salt for dinner and vegetable soup everyday especially made with fresh vegetables and then strained out broth to drink.
It's rough starting out but you can do it. You will feel fatigue and sometimes headaches because your body is actually detoxing - and your body is soooooo used junk.

It really comes down to the math! If you take in more calories than you burn, then you gain weight. If you burn more calories than you need, then you will lose it. Exercise is the fastest way to burn calories. Also eating less and eating items that have fewer calories will help. I was able to lose about 10 pounds a month by moderate exercise and cutting out high calorie foods, like soda pop, potato chips, ALL RED MEAT and any kind of sweets. If you can be controlled and disciplined about what you put in your mouth and how much of it, then you don't have to deny yourself ESSENTIAL carbs. Carbohydrates are the fuel for your brain, so when you starve yourself of any and all carbs, then you are essentially starving your brain. You also majorly screw up your blood sugar which is not good for your body. Be sensible, be flexible, be positive, and be BALANCED and you will lose it all. GOOD LUCK!!!!! :)

Sorry A. but you would be doing yourself a disservice by trying to lose 20 lbs in a month. It isn't the healthiest way to go..however, you can definitely do some damage to the scale. Remember all you have been through and use that strength to guide you through workouts on a daily basis and eating lots of veggies and fruit, and lean protein. Do not do any crazy diets because as everyone knows...diets don't work! I am a personal trainer so my advice is to do strength training and cardio 5-6 days per week. If you put on the weight due to inactivity then it shouldn't be hard to lose once you start to move again. Pretend you are a training for a 5k or something like that and you will be more focused on your accomplishment than your weight. Strive for 8 lbs and you will be amazed how good you feel! Congrats on kicking Cancers butt and remember to have fun at the wedding..it is about the bride afterall!

I was doing this intestinal detox and the diet that I had to follow along with taking these suppplements helped me lose 10 lbs in about 3 weeks. All I did was cut out wheat products, dairy products and pretty much anything with sugar including some very sweet fruits. I was allowed Granny smith apples, cranberries, lemons, and a few others but since you're not doing a detox, I'm sure you could allow more of a variety of fruits at a limited amount. I ate LOTS of salad and became familiar with a variety of healthier and tasty foods at the health food stores. I also drank lots of water and maybe some herbal teas slightly sweetened with Xylitol (all natural alternative sweetener) but that's about it. No milk, coffee, sodas, or fruit juices. Once I got past my little junk food withdrawal, I was feeling GREAT in addition to some unexpected weight loss. I bet if I would have exercised, I would have lost more weight and toned up. I would clear anything you decide to do with your doctor first though.

A., good for you that you are cancer-free! You go girl! A., I have never dieted before, as I have always been sort of slim, but after having kids later in life and not watching what I ate I wound up being quite heavy. I am 5'3.5" and I weight 157lbs. My body fat was 40pct. Not good. Well just a little over 2 weeks ago, I started on this program called Shake It Off. It is a protein based program, where you eat veggies, meat, etc. but you also have some shakes, puddings, etc. I have lost 10 lbs so far and I feel great. It is an 8-10 week program but if you start right away you could possibly lose enough for people to notice. People already are saying how good I look. I am very picky about diets, weight loss gimics, but my girlfriend told me about this and she is doing great, too! She is off her blood pressure meds (been on the plan since March for her). The lady who works with me explains she isn't so much about weight loss, but about fat loss. The fun thing is they don't want you to exercise right now. Of course, you can a little but mainly they want to get your body back to its natural chemistry. They talk about the pancreas and how important it is, etc. It's not that expensive, compared to other programs. And, once you are done with the program, you can go back to what you used to eat but you will be re-trained to eat responsibly. I don't know if you had eating issues prior to treatment, but even if you didn't this is a great educational program too! I am a vegetarian and have learned things I never knew! Like how some DMSO's in soy can possibly lead to cancer. Anyway, here is the website www.drshaker.com and you can contact me directly if you have more questions. This is a common sense method, proven to be the healthy choice! Best of luck.

Hi A. I have found a great place to get weightloss products. They have patent pending products that have fat converting in it. This means instead of having to workout for over 30 mins. to get a good burn this bar helps immediately from the time you start your workout.
Check it out and contact me if your interested...

I gained more weight when I tried the slim fast diet. Go on a low carb diet and start walking. You can do it. Even with the big holidays and eating all the treats I still lost 15 pounds from the middle of Oct. to now. If I hadn't went off my diet the week of Thanksgiving and the two weeks over Christmas and New Years I am sure it would have been even more. If you can't go walking get a dance work out video. It's fun and you get in shape.

I have tried a couple of workout videos and I would say the one with the best results is called Slim in 6 from Beachbody.com. It is challenging but you don't need any equipment or anything.
