This might sound weird but here it goes...I don't know much about ovulated or fertility day as old as I am and have kids. All I know is I had sex then I would be pregnant.. Anyways we found out my daughter is pregnant and she was seeing two guys so she is not sure which one is the father. She said she had sex with guy 1 then two weeks later she had her period then later in the month had sex with guy 2. Do you this guy 1 is the dad?? Her period were always on time. I know this sounds crazy but I just wanted to see what you all had to say.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all. Yes I am planning on getting an DNA after the baby is born. I ask if there was a way to find out before baby is born but the Doc said it's to risky. Guy 1 is a jerk and Guy 2 wants to be involved but I told my daughter I don't want him around until we find out if its really his. Again thank you all

Paternity tests all around till they track down who the child support suit should go to (I wouldn't count on either one of them - she might not have told you about all her partners).
Multiple birth control methods and regular STD testing would be a good idea too.

Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!

If you have a period, you aren't pregnant. Guy #2 is clearly the father, since she had sex with him AFTER her period...which proved guy #1 could not be the father.

Hopefully she not only took pregnancy tests, but ordered STD tests. I suggest some counseling during her pregnancy, since she has proven to be quite irresponsible. She has a child to take care of now, and she can't even take care of her own body or self worth.

Please tell me this is not the daughter that was dating and had sex with her cousin!

You need to get educated on parenting and get some control over your children. Knowledge is a very powerful thing. Please break this crappy cycle before this baby gets pregnant in a few years! Teach your children some self control and to have respect for themselves.

Okay, so it's guy number two.

I am not saying this to be h*** o* you or your daughter, C., but it's time you both went to Planned Parenthood and became educated about your reproductive health, including how menstruation/monthly cycles work as well as contraception options. There are many people whose parents or school educations do not give them enough reproductive education for them to take charge of their fertility and NOT have unplanned pregnancies.

You can be excited to have a grandchild and take measures that this child won't continue a cycle which limits their options, even if only temporarily. Please do this for the futures of your current children and grandchildren to come. Becoming educated to control our body's ability to get pregnant--or get someone else pregnant as this is not just a 'women's issue' -- is so important. This way, you are not just guessing at things, you will have knowledge, which helps us in our future actions.

Get educated about this, please!

ETA:
There are a lot of opinions here on your daughter's situation.
Since there is no way to change this - and no way to be 100% sure of the father without having the baby and getting a paternity test - I'd like to offer some non-judgmental thoughts for the future.

Has your daughter been taught to defer to men? Has she somehow gotten the message that men define her? Or that her sexuality defines her?

It's BS, but many young men are still taught that being predatory is "manly". This can collide with strict conservative teachings - like deference to men- in an unfortunate way. And I ought to know. I was not, but could have been, your daughter at an earlier time in my life.

She should be told a few things (over and over) with love -
One, the media makes it seem like all young people are sexually active. And many young people SAY that they are so they seem "normal." In reality, man many young people are NOT sexually active. Not everything people say - especially teens who fear being seen as odd - is true.

Two, she is under no obligation to make any man happy. She is not obligated to defer to any man. She may withdraw consent at ANY time - even if she previously said yes, even if she previously had sex with a man. If she wants to kiss a man and STOP there, she has every right to do so. *He* is not in charge of her body - she is. He is not in charge of her value - she is. Her sexuality is not her value - her mind, her hopes, her kindness are. Sexuality is a small part of who she is and can be.

Three, it is NOT true that "all men want is sex." Any man who says otherwise is, at best, immature, and an unsuitable partner for her...because she's better than that.

I wish you and her all the luck in the world.

It could be either.

The "period" could very well be implantation bleeding OR a period during pregnancy (common, some women have their periods the entire time they're pregnant, or just for part of it).

So it could be bloke #1 very easily.
Or it could be bloke #2.

She'll need to get a DNA test.
