I know this is rough! I was sick through my whole pregnancy with my 14 mnth old son. Even in and out of the hospital because it was so bad. The Dr tried lots of things but the only thing that helped me was Zofran. It was very expensive but now I think they have a generic so it is cheaper. Good luck!

I had the same thing with both my pregnancies. With my 1st, saltine and ginger ale worked but with my second it was Skittles. All my naseau was over at exactly 12 weeks with both. Hope this helps.

Hello.

How far along are you?

With my 1st son my midwife did nothing until I entered my 2nd trimester. When i was 17 weeks along and lost 22lbs in 2 weeks then they have me zofran (i believe that was the name) that helped. But for the 1st trimester all she told me was to make sure I did not go hungry. It is when you hit the hungry stage when you get sick and then you are so sick you do not feel like eating.

That is why a lot of women get just "morning" sickness.

With my 2nd son I was pretty lucky but that was because i was munching all the time. Even in the middle of the night when i would wake up to use the bathroom i would nibble on a cracker. I had a lot of fruits cut up and in baggies and i would take one or two or three (lol)with me for the day.

Good luck.

Dear N.,
When I was pregnant I had a LOT of gas, which caused my "sickness". I was told by my doctor to use an antacaid. I think it was safe to use Mylanta. Can can check with your doctor; and maybe this is the problem and the solution! Good Luck and God bless you!
Sincerely,
Kathy

I didnt have it, but my sister did. She was sick all the time almost all the way through her preg - she had a little relief through the second trimester, but she was pretty much sick all the time. No fun, Im sorry for you - she really never found anything that made her feel better, and she refused to take a prescription from the dr - so maybe that may help you if your willing to take it!

I think that sucking on hard candies works. Any kind that you are in the mood for. It worked for me in the first pregnancy and I do it again now for the sour stomach feeling. Good luck

I'm sorry you are having a rough time - I had the same problem with all 3 of my pregnancies. Walgreens sells a natural ginger ale by Boyman in a green bottle - you can also find it at other stores but I've always seen it in Walgreens. Any natural ginger ale works wonders. Sip it, don't drink it. I nibbled alot of crackers & sipped ginger ale & ice water when the naseau would strike, often before I would get out of bed. I would also sleep at an angle, nearly sitting up.Try to eat something high in protein before going to bed, like plain chicken, to keep your blood sugars level. Peppermints help to, whether in candy or tea form. You can also try eatting smaller meals spread throughout the day to keep your tummy from being empty, which can also aggrevate an already queasy tummy. Good luck, get lots of rests & I hope it passes soon!!!

I told my doctor about the problem and he gave me something for it. It helped a lot! (I was sick the whole pregnancy) I have heard that if you eat non greasy foods it helps. But seriously I tried gingerale, crackers, toast, and still nothing helped. So it's up to you if you want to ask the doctor. Good luck, Jen

N.,

I went through this with my now 5 year old and my 2 year old until 5 months with both of them. With my first son, no morning sickness of any kind. What helped me a lot was saltines (with salt) and ice tea with lemon. I know it sounds strange but it really worked. Also, try preggie pops. You can find them online or at Motherhood Maternity stores.

Good luck.

Hi, When I got pregnant with my 3rd, I had horrible all day nausea. I ended up getting what they call a "Sea Band" which you can buy for about $10 at any Walgreens, CVS... It's a bracelet which works on a pressure point to reduce nausea. My doctor also recommended taking a vitamin B6 supplement (also found at any pharmacy). And I basically lived with crackers in my purse, I ate lots of small meals over the day. All of this combined was enough to get me by. Otherwise, my doctor would have prescribed something stronger... I know there are other medications you can take...
Hope some of this helps and best of luck.

I had the same problem. I heard about lollipops they make but I never found them...I hear they are awesome. I used water with lemon for a while, crackers for a while, ginger all a lot. I had to mix it up because if I tried one thing for too long I became nauseous with that as well. Look into the lollipops though. Maybe Babies R Us, Mimi Maternity, Motherhood. I hope you feel better soon!

I am so sorry you have all day sickness! I had it as well with my first pregnancy. Not much helped in the beginning, but a couple of things did give me some relief:

Crackers. I kept them on my nightstand and would have a couple before getting out of bed.

Club Soda, Ginger Ale.

Peppermint candies. Buy a big bag and keep them with you at all times!

I will tell you there is light at the end of the tunnel!! I finally felt better in my second trimester!! Try to psych yourself up by counting down the weeks until you will feel better...it really helps!!!! Just remember...it is all worth it!!

Good Luck!!!

Try "Emetrol" liquid. It is an over the counter nausea medicine, usually with the children's medicine. It tastes sort of like cough syrup, but it helped me a lot. My obgyn said it was fine to use. Good luck!!!

I used seabands. They are wrist bands specifically for seasickness but worked wonderfully during my pregnancy. You can find them at Walgreens or CVS where the Dramamine is.

I wish you all the best!

I didn't have any morning sickness but my best friend SWEARS by Sea Bands. Those are the bands you wear on your wrist to prevent nausea. It's an accupressure point, and can help relieve morning sickness all together! You can find them a almost any drug store, but Wal Mart for sure. And eating healthy (no fried foods, no yellow cheese, etc) Hope this helps and Good Luck!

Raw, uncooked, unsalted almonds!
They have the things you need in them, as far as MUCH nutrition, and they help with the nautia. :)
You can get a big bag at Costco if you have a membership... and just snack on them all day.
(They must be raw though)

Best of luck! :)

You poor thing! I had much of the same with my son. Even though I didn't *feel* like eating, I tried to make sure that I always had something with me like saltines. They actually did help alot.

If you are having severe problems you can speak with your doctor and they may be able to put you on some sort of anti-nausea medication for a little while, but make sure to get it through your doctor to make sure it is safe to use during pregnancy. Good luck!!
