My son has been sleeping through the night since he was 4 months....i believe in Dr.'s Ferber Method and i let him CIO...and he would sleep from 7:30 - 8:00 Pm unil 6:3-0 Am or more...

Then 2 weeks ago he began to cry like an hour after going to bed, i though it was separation anxiety so i would stay in his bedroom would fall back rubbing his back (him on the crib) until he would fall back to sleep.....and then he would sleep the entire night....no harm...btw he had a bad cold and was taking antibiotics, thats why i didnt let him cry it out alone....

The thing is, last night he woke up like 9 times...crying hysterically for even if we took him out of his crib he wouldnt stop.....i checked everything and he is just fine, and he was fine the entire day....there was like an hour of time between every time he woke up....right now he is awake and as happy as ever...

can this be teething? he doesnt have a tooth so i dont know if it can be this or DH suggested he was having nightmares?

Thanks for your thoughts...

I.

Definitely sounds like the poor little guy is teething. Motrin and Teething tablets helped us through those awful nights when my son was cutting a tooth

It can most definitely be teething! Remember, that babies are all different and some can have symptoms of teething even long before they actually cut a tooth! And at 8 months he still doesnt have any teeth? For all you know he can be getting a couple or few all at once, which would make the pain of teething much worse. Also, is it possible he's gassy? I know my lil one wakes up like that when she has gas. Some nights i feel like neither of us sleep for more than 45 mins in a row!
As for the Hyland's teething tablets, they do work, *BUT*, make sure they arent still recalled. Babies were overdosing on the belladonna in them. Natural, yes, but not always safe. I'd rather use the motrin now.
Good luck to you and your lil man!

Sounds a lot like teething to me. My kids both did this around that age and its hard...especially when you are so tired! Have you tried teething tablets yet? Hylands brand...you can find them in just about every drug store. Natural, safe and they work! Better than that numbing bad tasting orajel stuff anyway...They are amazing! My kids still woke up but not as often. Take care and try to get rest when u can. I know it seems like it will never end but before you know it the teeth are in and they (and you) are sleeping soundly again.

I think it could be teething. My son was about eight months when he started getting teeth. Get some tylenol and ibuprophen for infants and alternate that with some hylands teething tablets. Check the bottom of his mouth. If it looks like a blister on his gums then his teeth are getting ready to come in. Frozen wet washclothes are good also for them to gnaw on for the pain. Try and see if it helps. Hope the little guy feels better soon.

My son got his first tooth at 3 months and he is like this. He's done with his teeth at 21 months, but he has done this same thing every time a tooth was coming through soon. Based on my personal experience, it sounds like teething to me.

It could be teething since those bigger teeth can be bears but since he just had a bad cold you might want to get his ears checked. Even though he was on antibiotics it can turn into an ear infection and that could be why he was screaming at night and fine now. The pressure changes at night and lying flat cause significant pain for baby if there is something going on with their ears.

Change in his diet? Sounds like a Vitamin B problem.
If you have changed his diet- change it back. Check WestonPrice.com for complete info on diet.
best, k

He might be teething. It is not fun. My daughter used to sleep through the night since she was born. Around 7 months, it all stopped. Right now, she is 16 months old and she is getting four teeth at the same time. Four of them are molars. OUCH!!!

I would try de-yeasting him from the antibiotics with a high quality probiotic!
