Help to Celebrate 10 Yr Wedding Anniversary

Hi Ladies,
Tomorrow (4/18) is our 10 yr wedding anniversary and I am at a TOTAL loss of what to give my DH. He surprised me with a diamond ring during a recent trip to Costa Rica, but I have nothing planned for him and feel badly. Plus, I also waited too long to order anything personalized and special. My mom is sitting for us tomorrow night and I'll surprise him for a dinner out. But really, he isn't really into any of the traditional stuff (aluminum and tin for a 10-yr, etc); cufflinks; sports, etc.

I think I resigned myself to a sweet card with heartfelt sentiments. It feels so lame and not enough. Does anyone have ideas of thoughtful and/or creative ways I can tell my husband how much our 10 years together have meant to me? Thanks in advance...

What can I do next?

Lucky for us, men are simple. Get a new "outfit" that you know he would like, book a hotel room or get the kids to your Mom's house and let the fun begin. Instead of a card, write a love letter. I did not long a go for my hubby and he really appreciated it.

Congrats on 10 years. Our 10 year is May 2. He is taking me on a cruise though I know he would be perfectly content to be at home and in bed all week instead!

great ideas

I re-enacted our honeymoon night, down to the strawberries and chocolate and the same lingerie and hotel room... he was touched and rekindled all he felt that first time...

Have him fill a cooler with things that remind you both of Intimate things, and have him meet you somewhere... he'll show up with his goodies and you will see what makes him tick

I found the list on lovingyou a few years ago, can't find it right now, but it was things like:

something that reminds you of how soft your wife is
something you like to eat before kissing your wife
something that reminds you of why you fell in love with her
somethingn the color of your wife's outfit on your first date
something that reminds you of a time you laughed together
your favorite outing with your wife
your favorite place...
you get the point.... he does a savenger hunt and puts it all in the cooler and brings it to the address.... usually a nice hotel room. and it is a great time.. men love this stuff... be wild and remind them they are the best man in your life....
have fun

What about a romantic night out with a hot tub, carriage ride, candleliight dinner, dancing, or something local in your area. If he is not into that stuff then play off of one of his hobbies or interests.

Give him you! Men like surprises... at least mine does. Meaning a "solo" time with his wife and time for romance and um, yes, a romp in the sheets. I know... it may sound stereotyped and maybe not an idea that appeals to all, but most men like to be surprised this way.
Maybe get a room for yourselves, have room service, relax and just spend time together? Pick him up from work, and take it from there.

If not that idea... men, at least mine does, loves tech gadgets! Go to the store now... my hubby loves his iPod or anything related to Mac gadgets. He rarely shops for things himself, but i know he would love getting these things as gifts.

Oh, maybe a certificate for a massage? My husband loves those. Well, I got him one once... and he really liked the idea.

Good luck, and Happy Anniversary!

Hi B.,

I had the same problem three years ago. The idea that I came up with was a hotel stay, we enjoyed a couples massage while at the hotel. Our children were cared for by a family member. He loved that, I also purchased him concert tickets for a favorite musician he loved. Whatever your husbands interests are.... you could buy tickets in advance or write in a card that you'll owe him tickets for football or whatever he would enjoy. Our hubbies love it when we show interest in what they enjoy!!!! It definitely cultivates the friendship in the marriage which does stand the test of time.

congratulations!!!! enjoy your anniversary... L.

Hi B.,

Congratulations on your 10th tomorrow! How exciting! Well, I just have a few suggestions: why not you and hubby go to a mystery theater and dinner (that's kinda different) and you can usually reserve online. There's a great website called:
www.xperiencedays.com, where you can find loads of ideas to give to your hubby which are unique and unusual, like driving a racecar, riding in a helicopter over the city, go on a hot air balloon ride, take culinary classes together, etc. I think the possibilities are endless...you just need the dough =)
Oh yea, a little 'lovin' wouldn't hurt either ;)

Wishing you the best on your 10th!

You could always purchase a vacation. Depending on expenses you could do something as simple as weekend camping in Santa Barbra ($25/night at state campgrounds) to a week in Hawaii. There's nothing better than spending time together.

Maybe you should peek on 5401Olympic(http://5401Olympic.com). It offers a 2-storey house located at Historic Miracle Mile, Los Angeles. It has huge front grass lawn with benches that is perfectly for wedding reception with a built-in surveillance outside-inside for security purposes.
