So What Happened?

Thanks everyone, great ideas, we did the blue ribbon around the tummy with Baby Ruth candy bars as a prize before the food and the one handed baby doll diaper challenge after the gifts! This got a lot of laughs and the shower was a success!

You may already be at your shower, but you can try this game: with toilet paper, string, pretty ribbon, etc, each guest cuts the length they think the pregnant woman's stomach is around. They then take turns wrapping their ribbon around the stomach, the closest to her "girth" wins a prize.

We played a fun one that was like a memory game. My sister had written several baby related words on cards and laid them out. If you got a match, you got a candy bar that related to the word. For example, breastfeeding was Milky Way, engorgement was MOunds, College fund was 100 Grand, Hospital Bill was Payday, Twins was Twix, Triplets was Three Musketeers, Baby Girl was Baby Ruth and Baby Boy was Junior Mints. The funniest one was Butterfinger, but I can't remember what the word was that went with that. I'll have to call my sister now and see if she remembers. There were several More, but I can't remember them all. It was lots of fun and we had a lot of laughs.

There are three they played at my shower:

1. Get gift wrap ribbon. Have each guest measure out the length of ribbon they think will fit around her belly. The closest to her wins.

2. Guess the poop. Get 5 different chocolate candies and melt them in a diaper. Tell the guests they can smell and taste the 'poop' and write down what they think the candy is. The one(s) with the most correct answers win.

3. Gift bingo. Make bingo squares with gift items on them. You can put the gift on multiple times like diapers, onesies, book...etc... The person to bingo first wins.

Have fun!

I hosted a shower a few months ago, and we played a baby bingo game. You create a bingo card on the computer (large square with several squares inside.) In each square, list a baby item, possibly using things the mom-to-be has registered for. You will need to mix the items up, using different items in different locations on the cards. You can put a free space in the middle or not, depending on the card size you use. I printed the cards out with the squares colored yellow and green (baby's colors), and they were really cute. While the mom-to-be opens her gifts, guests mark the squares that list the gifts she opens. When someone fills a line, they call out BINGO and get a prize. It really was fun and gave the guests something to do while the mom opens gifts. Also very easy and almost no cost. Have fun!

M.,

This game is always a hit. It is the one handed diaper change race. Split the group into 2 teams, you can just have people count off 1-2-1-2... Then get 2 stuffed animals or dolls roughly the size of a baby. Then have 1 from each team race each other to put a diaper on the "baby" wiith only 1 hand. The team with the most wins gets a prize. An easy prize that the women really like is candy bars wrapped with a bow! It is hilarious so take lots of photos.

1. get clothes pins(or anything else you can stick on your clothes) and eveyone wears one and if you say the word baby, who ever hears you gets all your pins, the person with the most wins.
2. Name game: if they already have the named picked out (or can use mom and dad's name)see who can make the most words out of the letters in baby's name.
3. Fill a baby bottle with M&M's (or anything small around the house, like dried beans) and have guests guess the number in the bottle
4. Scramble the letters of everyday baby items and have guests unscramble them
5. If you have the small type of safety pins, you can take at least a handful and put them in a big bowl of rice, mix it up and see who can pick out the most safety pins without looking. It is a lot harder than it sounds and so much fun.

The toilet paper is adorable. You bring out a roll of toilet paper and every guest tears off how much tissue that they think it will take to go around the Mommy to be's tummy.then of course you measure that agaisnt Mommy to be's tummy and see who was right
Also a game where you take the letters of the Mom and Dad's to be names and from each letter in their name you create a possible name for the new little that is coming.
