GOOD Pediatrician near Plano

I have a pediatrician for my 7 1/2 month old but I do not like him. He treats everything like its "no big deal" and makes me feel ridiculous for asking questions. He came at the recommendation of a friend but her children are all over 4 so maybe that makes a difference. Anyway, do any of you have a ped. that you LOVE anywhere near Plano or know of one? This would be a HUGE help. THanks in advance.

What can I do next?

We changed to Katz about a year ago, and although I love him and think he's a great doctor,in well over 10 visits to the office we have seen him 3-4 times. This really annoys me. I have started to request Dr. Gondol in his office and she is great and we can always see her!

I often feel in visits w/ Katz that it's "no big deal" and also often feel rushed or as if my kids are just a piece of paper rather than kids.

I believe katz is VERY knowledgable and he is a great doctor, however I would reccomend Dr. Gondol in the same office. She doesnt appear to be rushed, or that any question is a waste of time. We can always get in to see her and the kids love her! It also helps that I know she is being mentored by such good dr.s as Katz and Mcdonnel.

I have a couple other comments so feel fre to email me if you have questions.

(Their office is in the building across the street to the West of the hospital, and they are in Ste 350.)

HI A.,

I have a great pediatrician....she is a family doctor as well. Dr. Kelly Le is her name and I have been taking both of my kids to her for the last 4 years. My daughter is almost 4 yrs. and has seen Dr. Le since birth. I trust her judgement and advice. She is very understanding and willing to answer any questions. There is no such thing as "no big deal" especially when it comes to your children. I definately understand your frustration.

Dr. Le's phone number is ###-###-####. She is located on Alma & Springcreek in Plano. Give her a call. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They are getting ready to move to a bigger office by the end of this month to Alma & Legacy....not too far but it is great to see her business grow!!

I hope this helps.

In faith,
C.

I use Dr. Daniel Ramirez also. Not only is he a pediatrician, but he also diagnosed and treats my son for ADHD and a learning disability. He was a tremendous help in educating my husband and I in how to navigate the public school system to use their resources to get my child the skills he needed to be successful with his disability. He is a firm believer that it takes more than just medication to help make your child a successful student. My son loves him and I am sometimes amazed at what he is able to get my son to open up and talk to him about. He has a great repore with him. He is our doctor for the rest of my son's adolescent years.

I don't know if Frisco is close enough to you but Dr. Deborah Bain in Frisco is wonderful. She will partner with you. She is will be as involved as you want her to be or as hands off as you want her to be. I actually haven't had a ped for over 4 years because I couldn't find one that I liked. I like to have a say in the health care of my children and I use alternative treatments. She is very open to allowing me to do this. But she also is as medical as her parents need her to be. Again, I just think she's very balanced. My children LOVE her. Dr. Bain is awesome!! She is located on Lebanon and Legacy in Frisco. It's really not too far north of 121 and the Plano Frisco border.

God Bless,

K.

We LOVE Dr. Katz and the all of the nurses. We never have any problems getting in on short notice and if for some reason he wasn't available, the nurses have been great! They also have great response time for questions when leaving messages. We have also had great experiences during appts. with Katz and feel he is very responsive, patient and overall wonderful! However, don't get me started on Dr. McDonald, we have had a VERY BAD experience with him and will NEVER see him again (which I was warned about previously and just gave him a try when my daughter was really sick and Katz wasn't free). I think you'll love the office and staff!

I use Dr. Nena Piga in Plano. She is located on 15th street just east of Medical Center of Plano. She has always spent time with us and made sure all questions were answered before she moves on. Just a yr or so ago, her daughter Naomi joined her practice. They also have Dr. Capote.

I chose Dr. Piga when I was pregnant because it just felt right. I knew I was having a girl (now 13) and I wanted a female Dr. so that my daughter might feel more comfortable as she grew up and she could confide in her Dr.

My daughter loves all of the Dr's at Piga Pediatrics. We are not there very often because I am one of the lucky ones who has a healthy child..... rarely sick. When she is sick though, I feel great with Dr. Piga and her staff.

Dr. Piga recognizes us and calls us by name when we run into each other socially and it amazes me that she can remember everyone like she does, especially when she does not see us that often. I also know of other moms who loves Dr. Piga as well. One of the moms I know was a Piga patient herself growing up and now Piga is treating her children.

I have a great pediatrician in Plano at Plano Presby. His name is Dr. Daniel Ramirez and works with Dr. Anna Gomez. They are in the office called Kids Doc Pediatrics. We have been seeing him for 9 years now. Both my kids go regularly and if you have any questions they are very happy to answer them over the phone, but if you are still not sure you can make an appointment and still see the doctor. They are very upfront with you and tell you whatever you need to know. Good luck.

I like Dr. Carolyn Ashworth. She is near 15th and Coit.

We recently went to Dr. Mehendale at Frisco ENT and loved him, and learned that his wife is a ped in Frisco. (Dr. Mehendale - not sure what office she is in)

We also love Dr. Katz, but I'm not sure that he is taking new patients. If you can't get in with him, I bet you can get in with the new female ped. in his office. I've heard from other ladies in the waiting room that she is good too. The whole staff there is great (we have been going there for 6 years now since my first son was born). Their nurse practitioners have been wonderful in addition to Dr. Katz.

Their number is ###-###-####.

Like Kisha said, I also recommend North Dallas Pediatrics. We have seen Dr. Siebert once before, but Dr. Allan Devilleneuve is our primary ped. He was also my husband's pediatrician as a child, as well as siblings/cousins. So he's been in the family for a long time! We use the Plano location off 15th/Coit. The whole office staff is wonderful and really show care and concern for their patients. There are 4 or 5 Peds in the office, as well as a few Nurse Practitioners.

Your current pediatrician sounds like a pediatrician I've had hands on experience with - LOL! My daugher is 3 months old and had to see him twice before her pediatrician returned from maternity leave - Dr. Lori Seibert w/North Dallas Pediatrics Associates (www.northdallasped.com) - she's great! Their main office is at Medical City of Dallas...but have locations in Plano and Frisco as well. She travels from office to office.
