I need ideas please! I figured some sort of toy or clothes? I don't know the parents, only the grandmother. The baby is only turning one, so I know this shouldn't be difficult, and I have a 5 yr old girl! But I can't remember really what would make a good and maybe different gift. I wanted to be a little more prepared with an idea before going to the store. The party is at 4pm today. So any ideas are welcome!! TIA! One thing I thought of was a little summer gift bag with a bathing suit, sunscreen, sunglasses and maybe a hat too. Other ideas??

What can I do next?

I love theme gifts and your idea is great. You could add some sand toys or wrap everything in a sand bucket with cellophane around it.

Other ideas might be books (bedtime theme?) or bath toys and a cute hooded towel.

I had a friend who wisely suggested you buy toys for an older age, like 18 mos or 24 mos since we all know they will be old enough before we know it. The parents can store them until the child is ready.

Enjoy the party!

Books! Board books, preferably, because they're sturdy enough for toddlers. The birthday girl can't read them yet, but she can look at the pictures and her grandmother can start reading the stories to her. (I also like your thought.)

I like the summer gift bag idea. Or you could get beach/sandbox toys.

I love your idea but maybe add a toy for her like some soft blocks or
something that makes noise she can take in the car like a baby cell
phone.
They are great for keeping them entertained while mom & dad are driving.

At one, our daughter was climbing. She had become very active and busy.

She was given a tiny tikes slide. It was small enough to keep inside or take it outside. She was given a little scooter trike, a small wagon that she could pull.

A swing to hang from the tree.

She loved regular blocks, Books...Play kitchen toys.

Yes, your beach bag sounds darling too,
