My daughter's birthday is in a few weeks and I still don't have a good idea for her birthday present. She has enough Bratz, Barbies and princess dolls to set up her own store (I think). TIA!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all for all your ideas. We had the party yesterday. the kids helped me bake and decorate the cake. it was great! I did end up getting her 1 bratz item... the bratz kidz funky fashion make over. the "selling point" was that it doubled as a cake topper! the cake turned out great! There are some great idea's listed from the other women! My six year old LOVES her Barbie's and Bratz. She also loves her scooter, Lego's and magnetix. A couple of women had excellent suggestions: get her tickets to something "girlie". One of the local Ballet Schools is having a ballet, get all dressed up and take her to that. Right now the Dallas Arboritum is holding "Dallas Blooms". It doesn't get any prettier than that! Pack some really dressy clothes for her and grab your camera. PLan a whole day. Take her in late morning, let her run around the historical houses and T-pee and play. If its warm enough she can get wet at the water fountain frogs, then dress her up and take her pictures. You can treat her to lunch there too, its very good. If you give her your undevided attention for one day, no matter where it is, she will remember it long after the toy is outgrown and forgotten!

ONe year I bought my daughter the unpainted pottery tea cups from Purple Glaze in Preston Center for her birthday. When she opened them I explained to her that we would have a date to go paint them together. It was a wonderful gift because we had a great time together and she always remembers it when she has a "tea party" at home.

YES! There is this awesome teeter-totter at Sam's Club-- the girls love it... just the right size for 5-9 yr olds. You can also get a cart of art supplies-- get different boxes and fill them up with colors, markers, lots of paper, etc; my kids love that too. Another thing would be tickets to a movie, a special dinner, and a gift certificate to her favorite store to pick something out-- and make it a family night. Another great place to get items kids love are school supplies stores, like "Teacher's Tools" in Lewisville. Little girls love to play school and love using items they recognize from their own classrooms. They also have cool chalk/marker boards there. Another idea if you don't have it would be a storage bench (pretty to sit on and keep dollies in) or table and chairs set just her size. Another idea would be a special trip to Sassy Katz in Denton.
I have lots of ideas, as my girls are 6 & 7!

Hi C., I get asked alot about what to get children, if you suspect that already have enough toys... (which most children do :)) I encourage/suggest memberships, private lessons, season passes, college savings, books, movie tickets, clothing, puzzles, family games, or one QUALITY toy, that does not require endless accessories/add-ons. Hope this helps. - S.

I'm guessing she is learning to read as my 6 year old is.
She, too, is a Barbie/Bratz queen! :-) You could get her some really great books (step into reading) that are about Bratz and Barbie. I've found them at Walmart/Target etc... My duaghter just loves them. Then, she gets to read about all the fun adventures with her favorite dolls. Sometimes, she practices reading to them. So, it ends up being a two-fold gift. Both educational and fun...
Also, every Christmas, she gets a toys r us gift card from my brother. BOY, does that go over well! She calls it her credit card, it makes her feel very grown up! :-)

I hope this helps. Happy Birthday to your little girl!

What about webkinz? They are pretty hot right now or perhaps some type of outdoor toy-my kids are dying for spring to get here so that they can be outside "forever!" Also, my 7 yo is really in to music-perhaps your 6yo would like a Disney Mix stic or some other type of MP3 player or stereo with some Disney CD's. HTH, Have fun!
