Hi J.,

You have many alternatives available to you to address the fibromyalgia naturally. I'm sure that you will get many, many suggestions.

This one is in regards to nutritional/herbal/nutraceutical supplementation for anti-inflammatory needs, strengthening the immune system, pain relief, energy, and just overall balance in all of your body systems.

You can start by calling me, looking up the awesome products that get effective results, and begin building a more healthy foundation for health and wholeness. You can find my website address under the Members Perks link and then look for Victorious Living with Symmetry Direct under Local Businesses Reviewed.

Please be encouraged! You can do this!

Hi J.

Sorry to hear you have fibromyalsia. Apart from the pregnancy aspect of this, have you tried enzyme therapy (alternative medicine) for your condition? I say this because I have read that people who have had this problem and other problems such as stomach disorders and allergies, have tried alternative means that have worked more or even better than "traditional medicine" such as all the medications listed above.
I am wondering that IF you did or could look into "enzyme" therapy and if it worked, then maybe it would mean you could get off all that harsh medication and allow your body to cleanse itself and hence, try and become pregnant.
While I think modern medicine has it's place, I often think they like to over medicate which in the long run, can make matters worse. If it's true from what I read that fibromyalsia in part is due to poor digestion and lack of enzymes, then I can only imagine that all that medication must inhibit the body's natural means of healing.
Anyway, I am no doctor, but always like to pass along things I might have read. There is much on the net about enzyme therapy and much written by Howard F. Loomis, Jr., if you care to read more on the matter.

Best of luck to you and I hope things work out !! :)

Blessings

Has anyone ever mentioned to you that fybromyalgia could be related to a gluten intolerance or celiac disease?Gluten (and often dairy) products have been linked to autoimmune conditions such as fibromyalgia, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. There are many books and online articles about this. Some doctors will tell you there is no connection but the research is out there. Many doctors are just not informed. My own autoimmune condition resolved with a gluten free diet. My doctors were amazed that I was able to do it. It might work for you. Al least you could lessen your symptoms and go off some of your meds.

I'd be happy to tell you more about it if you want to contact me.

I'm wondering if you have any other conditions or symptoms that may be related to gluten intolerance. Some symptoms are listed in this article:

Here are a few articles to get you started. There are lots of stories by people who have helped their symptoms by going gluten-free!

Hi J.,

There is a large consensus among Lyme literate doctors that fibromyalgia is caused by LYME disease. Please google this.
They have found the Lyme spirochette,Borrelia b., in FM patients.

http://www.marshallprotocol.com/forum32/1263.html

http://www.springboard4health.com/notebook/health_lyme_di...

http://www.samento.com.ec/sciencelib/4lyme/beyondantibiot...

go on yahoo and lookup ____@____.com - thst is the support group of the California Lyme assoc. And if you become a member you can ask questions and get feedback of others who are sick, as well as literate docs in your area. (or email me and I can help) There are not many docotrs that can successfully find the bacteria and there is only one lab in califonria (IGENEX) that the lyme literater docs use because it finds it 90% of the time.

Send me a post if you need more info.

Hi J.,
I assume you mean fibromyalgia. If so, I take a low dose of serzone, which helps regulate sleep cycles and therefore seems to mitigate the pain, etc., from fibro. However, serzone (generic name is something like nefadezone) has a black box warning, so please look into the pros and cons of this med before considering it. I find rxlist.com to be a good resource for info on meds. For fibro (on off-label use), you don't take anywhere near as much of the med as you would for its original use. You need a doc who is well versed in these meds to help you through this. I was on this med throughout my pregnancy. Of course the ideal is not to take any meds during pregnancy, but perhaps you can decrease the number of meds you are taking. Also, you might want to look into pain management centers. Most major hospitals have them these days. You can try techniques such as guided imagery to help lessen your pain so that you can potentially cut back on some of the meds.

I know you won't like this response, but -- that's a lot of drugs to be on. You should be off (most if not all) of them anyway, regardless of whether you are pregnant or not. And you definitely should not get preg. with so many drugs in your system.

Have you ever tried intense exercise? You might be surprised at the results. I'm gonna guess you don't exercise much.

I agree that the drugs you are currently on are all mind altering and very dangerous to your body! You need to ween yourself off of them immediately. Look up Dr Wongs enzyme therapy in search. I have a good friend that has fm and ra, she couldnt function as a healthy mother when on the original drugs prescribed by the MD so she heard of the enzyme treatment method and she is a new person. Please try it and get off of those other drugs. You arent even legal to drive while on those! You will be a changed (for the better) person if you start the enzymes. Good luck!

Have you tried any alternative medicine? Both acupuncture and homeopathy are safe during pregnancy. If you have 10-12 acupuncture treatments within about a three week period, you should experience some relief. Another suggestion is hypnotherapy.

I would like to encourage you to watch a 9 minute documentary : www.sharethecause.com/live

I would also encourage you to go to www.ewg.org and take a look at the umbilical cord studies done on newborns. This is a huge issue with children today and toxins have a great influence on the add/hd - autism/ learning disability epidemic we are having with this generation of children.

I have fibro and am 14 weeks. My medications had been weaned down to fluoxetine and tramadol before I got pregnant. I never took lyrica. You're on quite a cocktail. As soon as we started to try, I stopped the tramadol. Fluoxetine is relatively safe for the first two trimesters, as far as they know. Some effects have been shown, but for a fibro patient, it's a necessary trade-off. One of the benefits of being prego is that you have increased serotonin levels throughout your pregnancy, which effectively lowers your levels of substance P. Your fibro may actually get better during pregnancy. And if you really can't do it, then you might consider adoption.

Hi. I have seen people with autoimmune diseases have wonderful results with a product called MonaVie. It probably would cost you the same of less each month as you are paying now in presciptions. I wouldn't just go off all the meds at once though. Try taking the MonaVie and the meds then try and wean yourself off the meds and keep taking the MonaVie. My MIL has Lupus and takes this and is now off all medications and is doing GREAT! Make sure you get the real thing, it has the highest concentration of all the best fruits. Anyway try that for awhile and see how you feel and go from there. It can't hurt so I think it's worth a try of a month or two. Good luck!

J.-

Hopefully I can offer some help. I can't tell you how to become pregnant while using these drugs you mentioned, in fact, as you know they are prohibitive to an ideal conception. But perhaps you can find a different way to deal with the fibromyalgia. I am a Chiropractor, specializing in maternity and children, and I have seen numerous fibromyalgia patients over the years. Fibromyalgia is simply a fancy word for severe inflammation in the body. That can be caused by many things such as "leaky gut" and digestive issues, food allergies, and chronic stress. It all stems from an imbalance in the nervous system. Do some research on the "sympathetic nervous system"; a specific region which over stimulates the adrenal gland, creates an inflammatory chemical called cortisol, shuts down proper digestive enzymes, and just creates a lot of havoc in the body. Holistic means to remove those imbalances such as Chiropractic and acupuncture are very effective and totally safe for your baby.

I hope this helps.

Hi J.,
My heart goes out to you and your family. My daughter is 16 years old and just recently found out she has fibromyalgia and she is wondering about her future and how she herself is going to one day have a family. She also is taking Lycria. Your life is harder and you do get faced with many challenges that most of us never have to face. I wish that I had some great advice or that I knew how it would all turn out, but I just had this overwelming need to reach out to you. If for no other reason than to let you know that what your dealing with is real and not just in your mind. I have faith that there is a way for you to be able to be pregnant and have a healthy baby. You must find the right doctor and learn all you can about your meds and alternative meds that you can take to get you through. I wish you all the best. We will keep you in our thoughts.
