Call your OB right away. They will probably have you come into Labor & Delivery, or the ER. Headaches and blurred vision are huge signs of pre-eclampsia. VERY dangerous. Please don't wait another minute. Hopefully you've already called your doctor's office by now and are on your way out.

Instead of having someone drive you... just call an AMBULANCE. Call 911 for it.
And then you will be cared for in transit.
And they will also transmit the info to your Doctor.

Call your ob asap. It could be nothing. Possibly an off day because of regular hormonal things. But these are also symptoms of preeclampsia. I developed this during my first pregnancy (all my check ups were completely normal until week 32) and I was told if I experienced blurred vision, headaches, nausea or seeing stars, to call my doc asap.

Welcome to mamapedia!!

If you are 33 weeks - you have already been tested for gestational diabetes. Were you positive for it?

Do you have per-eclampsia?

uumm...yes. you should be worried. you need to call your OB/GYN and not ask a random group of strangers who aren't doctors with something like this! Sorry - NOT trying to be rude...but if I had blurred vision and headaches while pregnant? I would call my OB right away...as that's NOT normal for me!!

Good luck! Congratulations on your first baby!

It could be anything from dehydration to normal pregnancy symptoms to something else entirely.

When I was pregnant each time, my vision became more blurred and I had to get a new prescription after each delivery (wait 3 months after delivery to make sure it's not permanent).

If your vision is blurred, then it could be causing the headaches which could in turn make you nauseated too.

But you do need to see your OB/GYN.

Could be blood pressure related. See your doctor ASAP.

Definitely call your OB. It can be something serious. It can also not be serious, like you haven't had enough water to drink. It could be migraines. But why take that chance?
I would call your OB and see what the office tells you to do.

I had preeclampsia during my first pregnancy and migraines during my second, and the symptoms you're describing sound more like the symptoms I had as the result of the migraines. Regardless, you need to call your doctor to get checked out (if you haven't already). I wish you the best!

Dear L.,

It's very hard to answer a question like this online, but I can think of two possibilities offhand.

One is that you're experiencing pregnancy migraines. These are a normal part of pregnancy for some women, and they don't necessarily point to an underlying problem. They're just really unpleasant.

The other possibility, though, is that your blood pressure could be elevated. For some (not all) pregnant women, this is a condition that requires careful medical management. Just on the chance that this is happening, call your doctor -- or whoever you're seeing or can see for prenatal care -- today.

Chances are you're fine, but you need to be seen today to rule out a spike in blood pressure.
