MY DD birthday is this weekend-she is turning 11 and I am trying to figure out what to get her. Of course, first thing she says is cell phone. She knows my rule and she is too young. Anyway, something more practical she wants is DS games. What are some good games that kids play? Any other ideas of things to get her?

What can I do next?

for 11 I'd recommend the professor layton series of games, anything Zelda , The Lego games are lots of fun. Nintendogs is good if she's a puppy girl. Nancy Drew would prob be good as well, I havne't played it though.

I agree that you can't go wrong with anything Mario. There are American Girl games, too. Get her a few AG books and the character's game that goes with it.

go to www.gamestop.com and there you can see the reviews and games per age.
Or just go to a local Game Stop store in your area.... they are very helpful. At least our local store it.
Or, take your daughter with you... and have her choose some.

the DS game, "Brain Age" is also very good, for any age, even adults. My daughter has that, and we play it too.

good luck,
Susan
