Doula Recommendation in Seattle

Ladies,

I'm due with my second child in July and looking for a doula recommendation. I had an unmedicated birth with my first child and would like to do it again, but first time around I could have used more help with comfortable positions, coping techniques, etc. I would also like an unbiased advocate for me in the delivery room. My husband is great, but I would also like a professional there.

Please send me the names and contact info of the doulas you have worked with and liked.

Thanks!
J.

I used Jenna Noelke and LOVED her! Her website is http://cherrytreebirthing.com/.

I would interview a few as well to find a good fit.

Good luck!

There are so many wonderful labor doulas in Seattle. Interview several so you can find the right fit for your family. You can contact PALS for referrals or look at profiles/availability on doulamatch.net.

Annie McLaulin! She's fantastic!! She was present for the birth of my youngest and has been used by many of my friends to.

I don't want to put her contact info on a public message board, but if you e-mail me, I'll send you her e-mail and phone.

We had a doula when my oldest was born who was okay, but after using Annie, I can see just how much of a difference there is!

I also recommend that you interview at least 3 doulas to see how their style will work with your personality. Since you've already done it once, you probably have a better idea of the support you'll need/want while in labor.

Jan Martinka is AMAZING!! I was able to have the medication and intervention free birth that I so strongly desired! She knew what I needed before I had to say a word. Shes amazing with both our older daughter and our new baby and we are still using her postpartum doula services 4 months later. I absolutley recommend her! She is such a fantastic lady and has been a real blessing to our family.

She's not a doula, but you could switch your care to Sally Avenson or Cynthia Brown, they're both certified nurse midwives that can deliver babies in certain hospitals. If intervention is needed they can stay and assist. Or call puget sound birth center###-###-#### for a doula recommendation. Good luck!
