Do You, or Would You Wear a Thong?

This is just for curiosity sake - because I can't for the life of me work out why anyone would want something sawing in their bum all day - I have tried one a couple of times when I was young (and thin), and had to resist the urge to dig it out of the crease all day lol!

I just honestly can't imagine someone finding them comortable!

What can I do next?

I don't on a daily basis, only on special occasions (like pants outfit just looks soo much better with no undies line and I am going out for something special). Also, my hubby loves silky smooth things... so for him, haha, here is my tmi, he rather have a full silky pantie to feel vs a butt cheek. haha.

I agree with ya - I don't find the comfy at all.

try them again, might have to wear them for a few days to get use to the feeling, eventually you don't even know you have them on!

I've tried but didn't find them comfortable. I do find it interesting that people who despise panty lines wear them. I have a couple younger ladies here at work who wear them. You certainly don't see panty lines. But their pants are so far into their butt-crack all the time it makes people do a double take. I think that looks worse than a couple lines actually.

I wear all kinds of undies, depending on whether I'm wearing a skirt, jeans, fitted slcks, etc.
I love my thongs, and have never found them uncomfortable. If it's "sawing" at you, you bought too small a size.
In all my years of wearing thongs, I've never had any kind of infection as a result of them.

As for the idea that girls/women who wear thongs are perceived as more "available," all I can say is, "Huh?" My dates didn't know what kind of underwear I had on unless I took my clothes off. If you've gotten to the point with a guy where he's looking at your underwear, it might be the fact that you've taken off your clothes that makes him think you're "available."

I have very thin cotton ones to wear when I work out. Seriously, no one should wear regular panties with black yoga pants (or any workout pants) -- the panty lines will always show, making the wearer look clueless and silly. They don't feel uncomfortable and I forget I'm wearing them within minutes.

With jeans I wear Jockey "no panty line promise" bikinis, but with thinner fabric pants I wear nice thongs. Hanky Panky makes a great one. Thongs do NOT show above your pants more than regular panties do -- in fact it's the opposite, as thongs are cut lower than bikinis. Make sure your pants fit, as well as your underthings, and you will not show anything off to the public you don't want to.

Hi M.,
As a long time wearer of thongs, I love them! I wear them all the time, except to bed, when I wear only shorts. Yes, I even wore them through pregnancy!

Not sure about the whole "extra infections" thing as I've only had one UTI and that was for a whole other reason than my thong. And as for being "more available"? Ummm I think there are a lot of other things that makes a guy think that way about a girl besides your underware unless you're flaunting them about. I'm not saying a 16 year old should be wearing them (though I did because I bought them with my own money and did my own laundry so that was my right). Okay back on track.

If you get them too small, yes, you're gonna be digging and it's gonna hurt "back there". Try out some expensive ones from Victoria (your husband may just love it). Try some cheap ones from Wal-Mart (because you can't beat 3 for $6).

But remember, thongs aren't for everyone. One of my friends swears by those boyshorts. I tried them and can't stand them. To each their own down there. :-)

I own a few pair, and wear them occasionally with the right pants. Sizing up will help as others have mentioned. They're ok. However, I would NEVER wear them if I thought they would show. There is nothing worse than seeing a woman, (a trashy woman, or a classy woman) bend down, or sit in a restaurant with their thong showing. Age 16 or 40, I just don't want to see 4+ inches of your thong, or your crack.

I laughed when I first saw your question - not because it's wrong - but because I felt the same way!!!

EVERY thong is different. If it "saws" it's not the right size or style for you.

My best friend and I went out and literally bought 25 pairs of thongs to find the "right" one for me. Why buy? Because sometimes in the store it's not the same as wearing it all day - there are times when you put it on and you just KNOW it's not right. But overall - try on a ton of them.

I wear a thong when I have a pair of "booty" pants or shorts that I don't want panty lines on.

I LOVE the Victoria's Secret ooooh what's the name?!! It's seamless and does NOT rub or saw.

I hope this helps!

I had to answer this one.........It's all I ever wear, I wore them all through two pregnancies! I find them way more comfortable than regular underwear because I used to spend the whole day with a wedgie with the regular underwear, and I'd be constantly adjusting it. At least with thong underwear there's is much less material :)
Plus there is no visible panty line!
After reading other responses I had to add that I have been wearing them for about 15 years and have NEVER had any kind of infection "down below" during that time.

I have to wear the 'T string' ones. Otherwise the thicker ones are a little uncomfortable. But, the right ones, I love those. U don't have to worry about wedgies or ugly panty lines. I'm skinny so I wear a lot of 'fitted' attire. I also teach dance so I'm moving a lot, where 'regular' panties would ride up. I wear yoga pants to teach in, so, I hate the lines showing. I think you just have to find the right one. Once you wear the right one, you never go back.

***ADDED***
Why would anyone see my thong or any other underwear? Obviously, my pants would not fit right or my shirt is too small if someone were to see them. Also, if nobody see thems, nobody could think I'm more available??? I don't get that. The ONLY person who sees my underwear is my husband. Yes, I AM available to him! If your teen daughter is in a position that someone sees her underwear, then, yes, she obviously would appear to be available. Just sayin'!!!

I have worn them, but I like g-strings better. It's close to nothing, but you still feel covered in the right places. Plus some clothing looks funny when wearing panties. I don't like to see panty lines. Most of the time, at least recently, I wear boy shorts.
My mom could not understand why I wore them either. She used to think she was teasing me by bying all sorts of crazy g-strings and thongs for me, lol, but she just saved me the expense of buying them myself.

For myself, and myself only: The most comfy is none at all, the least comfy are bikinis (bunches up AND I have to sit on leghole seams. Ugh. Hate that. Stupid seams.). 2nd & 3rd runners up, behind naturale, would be gstrings and shorties.

Couldn't resist the urge to answer this one. Yes I wear thongs but I like the kind that are a wider band of fabric rather than the thin string like kind. It is just more comfortable. Because my butt is very round and ample most underwear end up between my cheeks anyway. So I cut to the chase and get the thongs but I do own a wide variety of panty selections. Hubby prefers the crochless and the thongs and I like what he likes.

I do and I like them! I usually just wear my cotton bikinis, but I do like thongs sometime. I even wore one on my wedding day! I find the difference is made by the cut and material the thong is made of. I love the ones that are slightly more than just a strip of material a little larger than a string and made of 100% cotton or the moisture-wicking soft stuff that you find a Victoria's Secret and lingerie stores. Some do feel like you need to "dig" all day, but those don't to me and I like having no lines or feeling like I'm almost "going commando"!

Absolutely! Like another commenter, I wore them all through pregnancy. The only time I wore "regular" panties was right after childbirth, because the thong just wasn't practical. I used to wear dress slacks for work, which show pantylines something fierce, so thongs it was. Now I've gotten so used to them I wouldn't switch back.

They do take a couple days of getting used to, but as long as they fit properly (ie, aren't too small), you shouldn't even notice it there.

I used to wear them a lot when I was single and working. I always had to wear nice pants for work and hated the whole panty line issue. I just bought them a size bigger and it was fine and perfectly comfy. Now I am heavier, so I don't know that I would want to wear on and my kids don't really care about panty lines;) But if you get in some that are too small, ouch!! So that's the key, going a size bigger!

I have never worn one - but I have heard people who say they love them. There may be something about how a person's butt or crotch is shaped that makes it comfortable for some but not others. That being said, OB/GYNs do say that thongs are like a "subway train" that delivers bacteria from the back to the front and does result in increased vaginal and urinary tract infrections. While I understand the desire for not having panty lines there are plenty of panties that can be worn that do not show lines. Right or wrong, there is also the impression among men that women who wear thongs are more "willing" or "daring" (shall we say) or so says my husband. He is pretty firm about not letting my teen daughter have thongs for this reaon. He doesn't admit that it's valid - but says that it is what many men think...

Butt floss is just not comfortable for me.
Info I've found:
"Wearing thongs can contribute the spread of bacteria. Thong panties can cause bladder infections and urinary tract infections. These conditions can be very painful for women and worsen if not treated. Thongs can also aid in the distribution of bacteria from one area to another. The small string on a thong allows the anus and vagina to be connected with each other. There is no separation between the two orifices which will allow fecal substances to get into the vagina. Other bacteria such as group B streptococcal disease and E. coli can be passed into the anus and vagina as well.

Sleeping in thongs can cause bacteria to grow and spread near the vagina and anus. Bacteria can develop and linger when thongs are worn for a
long period of time. This is due to movement during daily activities, sweat and restroom habits. There is also movement during sleep, which can agitate areas of the vagina and anus in women. Thongs can cause small tearing between these areas, which invite infection. Every women needs to know that extra personal care must be practiced when choosing to wear thongs."
