I had the same problem! If you have any glasses with current residue clean/rinse them with vinegar. If it comes off you have hard water. I just put vinegar in the liquid deparment for liquid residue cleaner and it works like a charm!! Hope it works for you too! (I still also put a basket of jet dry in my washer too - but the vinegar is what's working - I know because I tried all the residue products out there!!)

K.,

I had this problem too & it drove me nuts! I talked to my father-in-law because he works w/swimming pools, waste water treatment plants & just about anything having to do w/water. He told me that I may be using inappropriate amounts of detergent ect & that maybe I should try the cascade powerpacks (I'm sure that you have seen them - they are premeasured detergent/etc pillow packs). So I tried those & have been thrilled w/my clean dishes ever since. They may be a little more expensive than the box of detergent, but it helps me to keep my sanity when I can pull a spot free glass out of my dishwasher!

Hope this helps - otherwise - good luck - I know how you feel.

Hi K., maybe you need to clean your dishwasher, just put on the bottom of the dishwasher 1 cup of vinegar, it helps to clean the inside and the hoses. I hope it helps.

Good luck Hanne

I have had this issue before... I was told by an appliance repairman that I was using too much detergent! Only use the cup that flips open, and don't fill it up all the way... only about 3/4 of the way. I use "Electrosol with Jet Dry" already mixed in with it and have had no problems since.

Also, the powerballs/powerpacks are great because they are premeasured. Cascade and Electrosol both have them.

I use some great dish cleaning detergent. It works great and I only need a little bit to get the job done. It's called Diamond Brite.

My husband sells appliances, and says residue is often due to the water not being hot enough. He said it may help to run hot water in your sink before starting your dishwasher, as often the first cycle of water in your dishwasher is still cool!
