If you can handle nasty tasting green powder, GNC has a colon cleanse in a plastic bottle called "Super Colon Cleanse" by Health Plus. It's $12.00 and it comes in a 12oz bottle. Worth every penny!! I will use it every night for about a week or two, depending on how my body responds. After this holiday, I will certainly use it for 2 weeks!! I have a recipe (not on the bottle) that will be the most effective. Be sure to drink this right before bed.

2TBS of colon Cleanse
2/3C apple juice (if you can get the organic kind with the fiber still in it, it's better for you than the cheap stuff like what kids drink)
1 C Distilled water (distilled water leaches toxins out of the body -VERY good for you) This water you can get at Walmart, but it's called Purified Water there. It has a purple lid.
Mix in a blender and drink as fast as you can. It will taste horrible, so you will want to drink it fast. You will get use to it, though. I don't even think about it anymore. My family calls it my "sludge".

I have tried all the cleansing pills and never felt like I actually cleansed my colon. This bottle will last you for months even if you do it for 2 weeks and wait another 6 months, it will last and still work well. To help the process while you do this, drink distilled water throughout the day and add fresh or bottled lemon juice - no sugar or artificial sweetners. This will also curb your appetite. Be sure to take a good healthy vitamin and if you take minerals, try to get the liquid form - they are a better quality and take them in the morning, first thing. After about 30 minutes, you can start drinking the distilled water. You just want to be sure to get those minerals back into your body. A good acidolpholis is great for your intestines and replenishing good bacteria. I also take Juice Plus, which is a capsule that contains all your recommended amounts of fruit and veggies without the starch and sugar. It's been recommended by top doctors and is continually researched for effectiveness by hospitals like Vanderbilt. Regardless, just be sure to try to eliminate all processed food; white bread & rice, nothing fried, nothing canned for these two weeks and you'll get even better results. Good luck!

Shaklee has a pill for Liver Detox which I believe has milk thistle. You may want to try straight milk thistle as an alternative. It is a great supplement to take! The liver is really what you need to detox in order to get all the other stuff out of your body. The liver is the filter of the body so you have to get that cleansed first. Also eating cruciferous veggies-broccoli, cauliflower, kale, green leafies-help as well. Stay away from complex carbs and eat a plate of 3/4 veggies and 1/4 protein. I have been seeing a nutritionist and the food part is what she told me. Hope these tips help.

Hi S.,

Young Living has many excellent cleansing products to choose from depending upon your needs. Here are a few links to articles on my blog about some of the products...

Article on the Gentle 5-Day Cleanse and Essential Nutrients
http://aromatherapy4u.wordpress.com/2008/08/08/inflammati...

Here's the booklet on the 5-Day Cleanse
http://www.youngliving.us/pdfs/5day_nutritive_cleanse.pdf

Article on Core Essential's - Cleansing and Controlling Inflammation
http://aromatherapy4u.wordpress.com/2006/10/06/young-livi...

Article on cleansing toxins and products to use
http://aromatherapy4u.wordpress.com/2008/10/01/toxins-dow...

Typically what we do after cleansing, for maintenance, is we use the Young Living therapeutic essential oils - Lemon, Grapefruit or Tangerine essential oils are excellent choices. What we do is put 1-3 drops of one of those essential oils in our glass of water, drinking 1-2 glasses a day. This is a very inexpensive way to maintain the body after a cleanse.

NOTE: do NOT use essential oils that are not from Young Living as the quality is not safe for internal use!

The essential oils help the body release and eliminate all sorts of toxins. Using the Young Living essential oils in a glass of water is also a very nice way to have a flavored beverage without calories and without all of those nasty artificial ingredients.

There is so much you can do with therapeutic quality essential oils as you can see by looking at my essential oil blog http://TheVeryEssenceBlog.com

You'll see on my blog that we are real big on getting all kinds of toxins out of the home. For example, here's a link to some of the many ways we use essential oils in place of toxic products commonly used around the home...

Everything can be purchased at my product website http://TheVeryEssence.com

I highly recommend the 'wholesale' membership as this will save a lot of money over time. If you have any questions let me know.

Have a terrific day!
E.

Herbalife makes a good 21 day cleanse with a morning and night tablet. It's less than $30. http://www.shopherbalife.com/catalog/catalog.jsp?dsext=mg...
plus they have a full line of digestive health products. My husband has a lot of digestive issues and the herbalife products helped better than any thing else we had found and were cheaper too!
Just be careful with herbs and other stuff you might come across. You have to be aware of what you are putting into your body. Herbs are not regulated so people or companies can claim whatever they want and there is no regulatory body overseeing them. That is another reason I went with the Herbalife stuff. I asked my doctor about them and he said he had used herbalife products and said as long as I was using their stuff he was fine with it because he knew they were good but not to add other herbs and stuff without talking to him about them.
Good luck finding something that works for you and is in your price range.

Go to www.zeolite.com. This is the best detoxing product we ever used. Sent it to my sister in Japan when she discovered she had ovarian cancer, when they did surgery on her, the cancer cells in her ovaries were gone. This product can be used by children and adults. Try it. This product is well known for curing cancer and keeps the body healthy for people who does not have cancer.

I know this goes against anything the others have told you, but the truth is that unless your physician recommends it, don't mess around with these "cleansers". If your are eating a healthy, balanced diet, the best cleanser in the world is water!! The body naturally cleanses itself unless there is a health problem, bad eating habits, too much inactivity, etc.
There are many physicians out there who try to tell people NOT to do these colon cleansers, just like the "natural" diet remedies, most of them are a waster of money and time. If your doctor tells you to use it, do whatever he/she recommends.
Best of luck, and I would strongly advise you to consult your doctor first, as occasionally these types of products actually can be harmful to some people.
Every product out there has people saying that their product is the best, the safest, the healthiest, or most beneficial. As the old saying goes, "Buyer Beware!"

S., hello! I have tried a couple of products through my home business company, Arbonne International. In fact I just ordered another set...they have a 7 day cleanse for 50.00 retail. You can buy the easy measure bottle that works with it for 8.00. I use it about once every six months, along with a daily herbal colon cleanse that I use about once every week. Personal...I've always had a problem with being "regular," and the colon cleanse has really helped. I also use the daily fiber shake with the weight loss program. The products are all botanically based and have a 45 day money back guarantee. You can check them out at my website and order straight from there if you like. I also offer a wholesale buy-in for people I meet. Gives you a year's discount for only 29.00. Let me know if you have any questions at all. www.J..myarbonne.com Hope this helps and hope you had a very Merry Christmas!

I actually just had to do a cleanse because I was having some intestinal problems. My dad works at a holistic healing center and consulted a doctor (a true MD) there, who recommended "Yeast Balance." It has oregano in it which is a very good detoxifier, along with a few other things that are good (and the peppermint helps keep the detox gentle). You need to make sure you're taking activated charcoal (get capsules in the vitamin section) to carry the toxins out of your body otherwise they'll stay in you, and drink lots of water. I took the Yeast Balance in the evening 1-2 hours after dinner, and then took a charcoal before bed and another 1-2 throughout the day between meals (1 hour or so after I'd eaten). I did this for five days and felt great. The doctor said this is gentle enough you can do it all the time, but do it 5-7 days on and then 5-7 days off. I had to order the Yeast Balance online and found it at Vitacost.
