D&C Symptoms vs Complications

I recently had a D&C done about 10 days ago, and have all of a sudden been experiencing stomach issues. I'm nauseous, and have also been a little constipated and had been irregular since my pregnancy and especially since the procedure. Last night I had terrible cramping more so because I had to go to the bathroom, but couldn't and wasn't able to tell if the cramping was worsened due to the procedure or not. I was finally able to relieve myself and felt better, but then woke up this morning sick to my stomach and haven't felt right all day long. I am not throwing up, just nauseous. Is this something I need to worry about, or normal?

Please call your doctor immediately. The symtoms should have lasted just a few days...

Dear K.,
I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Do you have a fever at all? Even a low grade fever of "99 point something" could signal infection.
The only times in my life that I had a hard time going to the bathroom was after a surgical procedure. Pregnancy can be constipating as well. The pain and nausea could be caused by the fact you're not going to the bathroom regularly. Try a stool softener or drinking warm prune juice. I had to do both after general anesthesia until my body got "going" again.
But definitely be keeping track of your temperature because you might need an antibiotic if you've got an infection. If you have a fever, call the doctor right away. It might not hurt to call anyway and at least ask to speak to his nurse. My OB/GYN was really good about getting back to me about things.

Take care of yourself. I wish you well!

It sounds like you have an infection. You should go to your Dr. ASAP. I had the exact same symptoms and suffered longer than I should have. As soon as I was treated for infection I was better in two days.

Don't wait any longer!

Best of luck and I hope you feel better soon.

You could have an infection, or you could have something completely unrelated, like a flu or something. If it doesn't get better soon, go to the doctor.

I agree that you should call your doctor. I had a D&C when I miscarried with my second pregnancy. I did not have any of the symptoms you are describing. It may even be totally unrelated, like maybe a flu bug or something. I would definitely check with your doctor to be sure all is okay.
