Could I Be Miscarrying?

The date of my last period was 3/2/2009. My husband and I have been trying for a baby since January. I have yet to start my period this month but when I use the restroom and go to wipe I notice a small amount of blood on the tissue. I'm spotting a very small amount. Going on for about a week. I did take a pregnancy test and it was negitive. I'm not in any pain or anything like that. I'm very concerned because I had a tubal pregnancy in September and am scared to death to go through all that again. Should I be worried? I have made a doctors appointment for tomorrow 4/7/2009. But would like some advice to tie me over. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Could be inplantaion bleeding. I know some women do not get a postive til late. I have fingers crossed for you. I have had a MC, and it is no fun, but I can tell you that when I did at 6 wks, it wasn't spotting, it was heavy flow. Good Luck.

I believe from everything you said is that you might be experiencing implantation bleeding. You can do a search online about implantation bleeding. It normally occurs around the time you would normally start you menstrual cycle. It says that it is not like a normally period it is usually light pink or brown in color and very small amount of spotting happens. This happens when the fertilized egg implants into the uterus. I experienced this with my last pregnancy and was afraid I was also having a miscarriage but a visit to the doctor the next day assured me that what I was experiencing was prefectly normal. So wishing you the best.

Hard to say... How long has it been happening? Do you have other early pregnancy symptoms (frequent need to pee, sore breast, nausea)? Could be early pregnancy spotting... but it could just be your period (if your last one started on 3/2 then having your cycle now wouldn't be that late/unusual).

Hopefully, you're just spotting. Good luck! Big hug.

Did you take a pregnancy test to confirm you were pregnant? If not, you might just be about to start your period. If you are pregnant, it might be implantation blood. I did this also with my daughter. I had 2 previous miscarriages and it scared me. I think I went to the doctor 3 times that week to make sure I was still pregnant. Just relax and try not to worry. (I know, people told me that too and I wanted to hurt them, HAHA) Let us know.

What I have learned from my many experiences is that anything is possible. I know it's hard to not play the guessing game in your head but the best thing to do is let your doctor confirm that you don't have another tubal and then just wait it out. Spotting can be implantation bleeding. My guess is that if you were pregnant and were going to misscarry you would not have spotting for a week. You would have been fine for the last week and then suddenly started with heavy bleading. Still, everyone's body is different. Hopefully your doctor will do blood tests so that you can have them done again in 48 hours to see if your hcg levels are doubling. In the meantime, try not to worry yourself. There is not much you can do other than making sure you're safe from another tubal. I'll be hoping for a happy outcome for you!

... Just saw you just updated! I'm sorry, there is always next month... you'll get there. The body is a crazy thing, but I am proof that long baby stories just make for happier endings:)

It sounds like it is possible you just had a longer cycle this month and this is leading up to your regular period. That can happen very easily, dependent on stress, what you eat, hoe much physical activity you've been having, sex right before your period was going to start. Given the early spotting and negative pregnancy test, it sounds like pregnancy wasn't even an option this time. I'm so sorry. Good luck next month!

Well, I would definitely wait and see what the doctor says today. You'll have an answer today. But, when I miscarried, it was brown, and then it turned to bright red. Wait and see what the doctor says today before you get worried.

I had implantation bleeding with my first child. I actually thought I started my period and wore a pad for three days waiting for my period to set in. Wrong, I was pregnant. If it's a bright red blood is when to be concerned. You could be pregnant and just not have enough hormone in the urine to show up yet or the test is expired. I'm anxious to hear what the doc says. Please keep us posted.

I'll pray for a healthy pregnancy for you!

Hmmm... My guess is that if it were a miscarriage, you would be having a heavier flow -- even heavier than a period. When I had one, it was crazy heavy. That might just be my own personal experience, but if you're only having light bleeding for a whole week, then I would doubt it's a miscarriage...
