I avoid pork as well, but I have to admit that pork chops are very delicious. I don't cook them, my son does, on the rare occasions we get them. I actually like them grilled, but they can be cooked on the stove top or baked in the oven. Shake n' Bake is really easy and comes with the seasonings.
My favorite is with garlic salt and pepper. It doesn't get any easier than that.

Good luck!!

I bake them in a little olive oil, splash of vinegar, salt, pepper and chopped onion. It is tasty! Or you can marinate them in this and then grill. Ooooh i could go for a pork chop now. (with the bone are a little tastier)

I agree with Laurie A's cooking instructions. My family loves my pork chops... I get center cut thin pork chops and I am a teryaki nut and make a mixture of honey bbq sauce (not too much honey taste or bbq taste) I like kraft's and kikoman teryaki sauce (orange label on the bottle) along with garlic salt and pepper and let is soak for as long as I can. Then I cook it on a skillet per Laurie A's cooking advice. I'm impatient and paranoid about burning so rather than doing 4 mins per side, I do 2 mins per side twice. I use the skillet between medium and medium high... enough to sizzle but not enough to burn.
My mom makes shake and bake which is good.. I just love my pork chops b/c I like teryaki and honey bbq :D

Salt and pepper, or garlic salt and pepper for seasoning.

Are they thin or thick?.. Cook them just like beef steaks,.

You can grill them and they are delicious. Grill a 350 for about 4 minutes on one side and 4 to 6 min on the other if they are thin.. Or 6 min on 1 side turn over and cook for another 6 min on the other.

or in a skillet, heat up a little olive oil heat it up to med, throw in half of a sliced onion, stir for a moment, place seasoned pork chops in skillet heat on one side for about 4 minutes, turn it over and heat on the other side for 4 to 6 minutes.

Perfect and simple..

We like them sprinkled with a little Worcherstershire sauce, cayenne, garlic powder, and paprika and pan-seared or smothered in onions and mushrooms.

I mix up a lil' apricot jam, dijon mustard, salt and pepper, let simmer... then put the pork chops in a non-stick skillet 4-5 mins per side (depending on how thick they are) spoon over some of the sauce before you flip them...and your done! Some wild rice and a veggie/salad on the side..easy and delicious!

Since it's late, I guess you already made them. How'd it go? I've cooked them many different ways - in the slow cooker with sauerkraut or in breaded and fried, or baked Asian style with hoisin/ginger and soy sauce mixture or pan fried and just seasoned with salt and pepper and served with mushrooms and onions and gravy. Applesauce on the side is great.
