Comcast Xfinity Vs. ATT Uverse??? Which Do You like Better?

We are moving and currently have comcast Xfinity in our house. We did not have the option for Uverse as it was not available. However in our new home we will.

Anyone prefer one over the other? Comcast pretty much has the same as Uverse these days but their internet speed seems to be better. We have heard good things about Uverse and are looking for a change (hate comcast customer service) but wasn't sure how their internet speed compared. I work out of the home so it is important.

Any pros and cons to either? What do you have or prefer?

What can I do next?

I have no experience with AT&T UVerse. We have Comcast/Xfinity. We tried Verizon FiOS several years ago - for less than 30 days. We switched back to Comcast.

We had a contractor cut our cable line on Christmas Eve. Comcast had someone out here to repair THAT DAY.

We've NEVER had a problem with Comast Customer Service - everyone speaks clear English and has been helpful....

Verizon tried to lure us back last week - I called Comcast - they bumped up our speed and gave me a credit on our bill for six months....can't complain about that!!!

So I would stick with Comcast!

Good luck!

My parents have Comcast and they are happy with it. In fact, I have an account through their service online so I can watch TV shows on my computer or iPad. I looked into UVerse when I lived in Oklahoma and I was not impressed with the internet speeds. Also, in the fine print (at least at that time) was that heavy users would be surcharged and/or their speed throttled. Since I pretty much watch all TV through the internet, that right there was enough for me to cross them off my list.

I will never do business with AT&T. Several years ago AT&T slamed my phone service, then sent me bills. I was paying another provider for landline service both local and long distance. I called AT&T and told them I didn't owe them money, I was paying another provoider. They refused to get off my line and then blocked my long distance service for over a year. I called the FCC and filed a complaint still they refused to get off my line. The FCC backed ME and agreed I didn't owe AT&T anything. FINALLY my regular provider were able to get AT&T off my line. Then AT&T sent me to collections. I explained to the collector they owed me money --- I did not owe them money.
The FCC said I should have taken them to court to pay me for the service I paid for over a year and couldn't use.

I will never do business with AT&T.

I had Comcast for cable TV for several years and had only moderate issues. For past year have had ATT-U-Verse, for TV, phone and internet. Price started at 137.00 per month and now is 183.00 per month. Frequently have had connection problems, if phone out, can't use internet, TV often has connection issues.
Last week had probs and had to have tech support twice and finally had to get computer professional to straighten out the problem.

I am signing up tonight for Google Fiber for internet. I am seriously thinking of going back to ATT for phone and Comcast for cable TV. My phone is frequently used for 3 way calling and U-Verse is not user friendly for that feature and I lose calls (land line).

I"m not a fan of AT&T, never have been. But we just switched from U-Verse (and all the cords that come with it!) to Xfinity several months ago. We only had U-verse because when we moved into our new home, AT&T would not activate our internet service we had before we moved. This area is considered "U-Verse only". HOA would not allow Direct TV because they don't allow satellite dishes on the roof tops so we had no choice. Xfinity would have to do something really crazy for us to return to U-verse and it consider it a better option.

We have had both, and really liked U-Verse. It's not available in the area where we live now, so we have Comcast, which I hate. Our internet is forever going out, even though we pay extra for the high-speed/ business class service. Their prices are pretty high for what we get, and the amount of time I have to spend on the phone getting them to remotely re-set our internet is out of control. Ugh. I would be happy to go back to UVerse if that were an option.
