Hello Mama's
One child is saying she would like to be an Investigator & have a career in forensic science age 13, which microscope is the best IYO?

What gifts ideas do you have for a future Vet, pediatrician age 14,dancer/actress age 8 and a career in forensic? I also wanted to add chef to the list for the 13 year old. Thanks for taking the time!

HINT: We already have a puppy, I purchased a couple of cook books already for the possible future chef.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks Jo: we did check out a few books at the library so she is looking into what area.

Perhaps you should get her a book to figure out what type of forensic science she wants to do. Forensic is a process not an area. My favorite joke when I was studying forensic accounting was we take money from dead people. :p

Most affordable microscopes aren't that durable so as long as she takes care of it it shouldn't matter. Still there will probably be someone here who has bought one recently that could give you brands. We have a old microscope from when I was in grade school, has no bells or whistles but it does what it is supposed to do.

Oh, you may want to see if any of the schools are upgrading, then you can get a good one on the cheap. :)

I know that my 18 yr old daughter who is in college majoring in theatre LOVES the whole "special effects" make up thing, so we always gave her tons of facepaint for Christmas. The best brand by far was the Snazaroo. She is really good at it now, and has a bunch of videos up on youtube too. It's so cool! She also loved all types of clothes and neat hats. I used to buy her gowns at thrift stores so they were much less expensive, and she was big into shows too. (still is) She loves to get boas, funky jewlry, make up, and there are some neat magazines out that we have gotten her subscriptions to as well. (make up artist, acting, stage actor, etc) I found they were least expensive on Amazon. Tickets to local shows at the high school theatre are always neat too, and if it is your local high school, it will give your child an idea of what it will be like to be on that stage someday. :)

don't know on the microscope....check the reviews on Amazon.

Vet: age? white lab coat, play stethoscope, book on animals. Internship visit with a vet? Our local vet allows kids to visit for the day. One of the books by James Herriot?

Pediatrician: internship/one day visit? Tour a pediatric hospital? Search Amazon/Barnes Noble for a book to tie in with this? This is a toughie!

Dancer/Actress: easy! dance clothes, costumes, lots of movies/books to tie in with this! Is she in dance class?

Forensics: another toughie! I give up....sorry!
