Best Digital Camera?

I'm in the market for a new digital camera and would love some recommendations from other moms who have cameras they like. My main problem with the one I currently own, a Nikon Coolpix 4600, is that I cannot seem to take a photo of my constantly moving baby without it being blurry. My parents have a Canon Powershot that captures a "freeze-frame" wonderfully, with nice, crisp images. Any other good ones out there?

What can I do next?

My fiance works at an electronic store and he recommends a canon A530 (149.99). That is actually the one that i want!! There is also 540 (199.99)and the 630 (299.99). We will probably get the 630.

I have had two Olympus cameras and i think they are the best. They aren't too high priced eigher. WE bought our 2nd on ebay for a good deal. Our first was lost at a pumpkin patch and we are happy with this one as well.

I don't have a digital camera but when I bought my LCD screen camcorder the best buy guys said that SONY has the best of the best and there not the highest priced at all. But I go to SEARS for all my accessories because it's cheaper there so you might want to see there prices. Not by much but cheaper. My camera was even $15 cheaper when it was not on sale and the price I paid at Best Buy was the salle price. But I bought it on credit so it does'nt matter. If it has an LCD screen get a warenty because they might go out. Mine has'nt but I wanted to be on the safe side.

I purchased two before returning them. I looked and looked for a one that the lag time between you pushing the button and it actually taking a picture was as fast as possible. I was so disapointed with my first purchase as my daughter was out of the picture before it took it. I found the perfect camera.. it is a Cannon Powershot S2 IS.... I love it! it also have video capablility so you can send clips to family members!!

Make sure when shopping to check on the Lag time.

For size and picture quality I highly recommend the Canon Powershot SD900 although an in the SD series is a good camera. I've had several of these cameras from the 2.1 Megapixel, 4.0 Megapixel and just recently upgraded to the 10.0 megapixel. All of them allow you to control the ISO and Lighting enough to avoid those BLURRY moment. It also has some good manual settings specially programmed to capture kids and pets as well as nightime, beach, snow, and underwater. I would avoid the PowerShot A Series as time from when you push the button down to the time it takes the picture is WAY to long. Personally the best way to buy a camera is to go to the store, and have them put a memory card in it so you can see how long it takes. Anything longer than instantaneous is TOO LONG. I personally Like the Size of the SD Series and I often keep this one in my purse to make sure I have it at all the right times. Although a friend of mine bought a Nikon and she obtains relatively decent pictures from it, I personally don't like the size of it for carrying for everyday usage.

I would also recommend the Canon Digital EOS series. I have a 10D which is one of their first to use a Camera body to a 35mm lens equivalent and Love the pictures I obtain with it. I have a 28-200mm Zoom Lens on it and it's awesome for those times when you don't want the wee ones to know your taking their picture.

I just recently bought the Canon Powershot S3 IS. It works great! I have an active 8 month old and it captures her very well. It also has a great video option too.
