Hi,
My husband and I are having our 3 month old daughter baptized out of town (not our own church) to help ensure that our families are able to attend. What is an appropriate financial contribution for the church? The ceremony will be included into the Sunday worship. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi D.,

My husband & I gave $100 to our local church (we do not go to mass on weekends). If that's more than you were looking to spend, I would imagine $50 would be more than sufficient.

Good luck,
R.

We gave $75. I was going to give $100 and the church said it was too much. I had no idea either!

D.,

We had our daughter Baptized at the church I grew up in on Long Island. So it isn't our local church but a church I know. Not sure if any of your relatives go to the church where you are having the baptism. Than you could ask them. We gave $50.00 each to the church and to the pastor.

Hope this helps,
L. M
