Ballet for 5 Yr Old

My 5 year old daughter wants to take ballet. Does anyone know a decent/affordable instructor or studioin batavia/geneva? Honestly, it's probably more about the tutu and less about dance. I welcome any suggestions on classes for boys/girls. I just need to get my kids involved with other kids.

What can I do next?

why don't you check with the local park district? they usually have classes. or you can check the community education programs at Waubonsee Community college. they have classes for kids. I an not totally certain about ballet, because I had boys and they didn't care about a tutu!!!LOL

Geneva Park District has a very good reputation for dance...also, Batavia Park District has shown improvements with their dance program over the past 2 yrs.

I don't have any suggestions on where to go, but I'll get the name of the studio NOT to go to! My stepdaughter tried ballet there and she hated it. The teacher was dry, strict and boring. I know ballet is SUPPOSED to be a discipline, and when children get older they will benefit from a strict teacher, but when they are 5-years old you're right. It's all about the tutu and ALSO having fun dancing. My stepdaughter is a talented dancer and I hate to discourage her with a class she hates. (The studio was in the Geneva area, I just have to get the name).

My suggestion is try the park district. I'm a fan of park district classes for a first-timer. They are affordable and usually FUN!
