Backpack Recommendations?

Hi, I'm looking for a backpack to take around on a daily basis.

Big enough to fit all the toddler/baby things (wipes, extra clothes, food, etc), but small enough to not look like I'm about to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. If it's at all fashionable, that would be great! But I'll give up fashion for service and size.

Any moms out there have a backpack that you just love?

Thanks, M.

I would recommend a Jansport. They come in all shapes, sizes and colors/patterns and they have a lifetime no questions asked guarantee. If a seam ever splits or the fabric tears you can take it to any retailer that sells Jansport and they will replace it. GI joes sells them and so does Big 5 I don't know where else but the price is almost always within a few dollars wherever you find them.

Jansport backpacks are awesome! I had one for years. The only problem I ever had was the zipper wore out after a while and if you take it to a retailer that sells them, they will have it all fixed up and it won't cost you anything because of the lifetime guarantee. You can find them almost anywhere and they come in more colors/shapes/sizes than ever...big or small...and with almost any assortment of pockets for various baby items big or tiny. They are normally a pretty good price too. If you don't find one you like at one retailer, just go to another that sells backpacks and I'm sure they will have different jansport ones. Seems like a never ending variety. Maybe even check out their website so you can find a style you like....even order it on Amazon or something if you just LOVE it even without putting your hands on it. ;)

I like a combo backpack and carrier. It is the Kanga Kid from Deuter. It looks like a regular backpack with plenty of storage space. The best part is a feature that allows you to carry your child on your back. Your little one fits between your back and the storage area. You'd never know it was a carrier when the pack is zipped up. Extremely handy though when your little one gets fatigued and you wind up having to carry them. It is even useful for carnivals, fairs, theme parks, etc. to carry your stuff and if you win a stuffed animal you can pack it into the kangaroo seat.

I love my jansport backpack, flexible, and easy to caryy a little or alot.
I also have a combi backpack w/attachable fanny pack. I like it alot so that way i cn just zip off the pack thing and caryy it when not needing whole diaper bag. But i think my fav is my jansport though.

I bought the Eddie Bauer backpack diaper bag and have used it for both of my kids! I love it! It was a little on the pricey side, but I've been using it now for about 4 years. I ordered it from eddiebauer.com. It's a great size and there are a few colors to choose from. It also comes with a changing mat! Good luck!

My daughter has a messenger bag with backpack straps on it that I have been coveting. We ordered it last year but I don't remember where we got it. It has pockets for everything and is realy easy to get into one-handed. Now that schools out I may be able to talk her out of it ;)

M.,

I have a little Jansport purse-sized backpack that I've had for years. It's now a little shabby around the piping that is the fashion now. Jansport lasts forever, and if you get one now, your child could use it for school in a few years as well.

Hope this helps,
Melissa

I have the Eddie Bauer backpack diaper bag in black. Paid $80 for it and used it for all 3 of my kids. It is still in great shape and would sell it to you for a cheap price. I originally thought I would continue using it, but have moved on to a Jansport. It is more diaper bag functional. There is a removeable pad, separate compartment for wet things, insulated side pockets sized for a bottle or sippy cup.
