We need a new baby monitor and just reaching out for some suggestions. Don't need a video or anything fancy, as I was fine without it with my first and we know this is our last child. I like a vibrate feature and need it to reach far so we can be outside with our 3 year old. We had an iMonitor Vibe which we really liked but it did not reach outside well.

What can I do next?

I woulg get the Angel care delux plus monitor. It sets off an alarm if you baby is not breathing. I worked in peds a long time and have seen the parents who lost their baby to sids. This is the only monitor I will use. You cant see your baby on a video monitor when you sleep, but you will wake up to an alarm that goes off on the angel care monitor if you little on stops breathing.

I would agree with the previos person about the video monitor...especially if you are thinking of having anohter baby as you could use it then too. Check craigslist for a used one. We love the Summer Day and Night Handheld Color Video Monitor. It can plug into your TV so you can watch you little one on the big screen. I can't say enough good things about it!

I suggest re-thinking the video monitor. It was mt BEST "baby helper" thingy!

ITA about the video monitor....it's a must! With our first baby we had a regular sound-only monitor and when we heard our daughter fussing or crying we'd rush right in to see what was the matter. When our second daughter was born we splurged and bought the Summer day and night handheld w/ video monitor and we LOVE it...so much so that we bought a second one so we have a monitor on each floor of our house (and because we had baby #3.) Being able to see what baby is doing is so helpful...when baby is just fussing a little or stirring in his/her sleep you can see if a visit from you is warranted, or if you can leave him/her alone to see if they fall back asleep on their own. Also, a handful of times baby got his foot caught in the crib slats so we knew we had to rush in to rescue him! So in summary, being able to see the baby is extremely helpful and it has been worth every cent to have this monitor. The range is also great...we are able to play outside and have the monitor outside w/ us to keep an eye on baby. Highly recommend it!!!! Good luck w/ baby #2!

since the imonitor vibe is $60 itself, spend $100 and get the summer day and night video monitor. SO INCREDIBLY WORTH THE MONEY!!!!! You can't put on price on peace of mind, and being able to SEE the baby is priceless. No worrying, and no running in to see what the baby's doing. We've had one for 3 years and got a second one for our second child.

I would Google it and look to see what you can find with a long range.........then I would read the reviews that each of them have...........that will allow you to make a better decision on what would be best for you.

Take care and good luck.
