Hi there! We just had our 3rd child, and I am looking to get a new monitor. It's been awhile since I've shopped for one, so I was wondering if anyone had any reccomendations.
I am ideally looking for one that the main monitor is portable/can work on batteries. Also, trying to stay in a reasonable price range.
Thank you!

What can I do next?

I got Sony 900mhz baby monitors. I rally like them. They're super sensitive so you can hear everything going on in the bays room. They are also rechargeable and will beep if you go out of range. Here's a link:

The best purchase that I ever made with my daughter was the BébéSounds Angelcare Monitor system. It was a little pricier than others, but the peace of mind was worth every penny!!! If the baby stops breathing an alarm sounds. We would test it occaionally by taking my daughter out of the crib without shutting the monitor off and sure enough after about 10 seconds an alarm would sound. I really think that it allowed my husband and I to get a more sound sleep. The monitor comes with two parent units that can either be plugged in our bettery operated. We kept on in our room and one downstairs.

I'm another vote for the Summer Infant Day & Night Video Monitor; the hand held unit is a rechargable battery so you can clip it to your belt and take it with you. It has a great range and I've never run into a interference with it. It is sensitive too...I can hear my daughter breathing.

Hi L.
I have the Sony BabyCall model. It works off of a rechargeable battery. I LOVE it and have had zero problems with it. I plug it in at night and during the day i use it downstairs while they nap and it runs on the battery all day! I purchased at Babies 'r Us.

Hello L.. We have the Summer day and night baby video monitor. here is a link of what it looks like you might want to shop about. http://shop.happymothers.com/shop/prd_SU02090_Day%20&...

love this monitor. It really is the best I think and I have had it for two years and it still works. It is one of those baby products that is so worth the money and one I can't live without. Hope this helps.

I think they also make a wireless one. I have the one I sent you but thought I would let you know. You might want to research it more.

Hi L.,

Congratulations! We are using a Graco Baby Monitor
It has clear sound with vibrator function as well, and is portable. Once charged, you don`t need to plug in. I am writing it to you also, because we are going to move back to Europe and as we havean 11 month old child we are selling a lot of our baby stuff, including the monitor. It cost us 60$, and we bought it in October. I can give it to you for 40$. If you are interested, or interested in anything else (crib, changing table, toys, etc), please feel free to contact me.

All the best,
Y. F.

Hi, Safety 1st makes a simple, reliable and affordable monitor. We bought it after checking out Consumer Reports - it's one of their 'Best Buys'. Target or Babies R us carry it.

We also have the summer day and night and LOVE it. While I wouldn't call it in the "resonable" price range, I do think it is worth it. It got a lot of negative feedback about interference but I don't think its too bad. I would buy it again if I had too!
