My husband recently got a job in Camden, NJ and we are trying to move our family out to New Jersey and are not familiar with the area at all! We're looking at Gloucester County, any suggestions? Schools? Anything would help.

What can I do next?

The school systems in swedesboro, east greenwich, logan, mullica hill, west deptford, and mickelton are all very good. I just recently moved to deptford from Mullica Hill.

Hello B.! We live in Southern, NJ so maybe we can help? I grew up here and know the areas pretty well or someone who does. Feel free to email me with questions. What towns specifically in Gloucester County? I live in Burlington County. Hope to hear from you.

I was born and raised in South Jersey. But, Camden County (Gloucester Township). If you are looking outside of Gloucester County, you may want to look in that area. It really isn't anywhere near Camden itself. The schools in this township are really good and the communities and neighborhoods are great. I have since moved to PA, but wish to move back there some day to raise my son based on my experiences there growing up. If you want, email me and we can chat more.

Good Luck!
Jen

Hi!
I lived all over NJ but now in gloucster county and love it. There are a lot of nice area's and will give you my opinion but of course it depends on how much you want to spend.
Haddonfield(camden county) has these amazing old houses. Victoria type of town that has GREAT schools. It is expensive.(close to husbands work)

Medford (burlington county) Is beautiful. There are old and new construction. Lots of Lakes and you are in the woods. Expensive but Great Schools

Washington twp (gloucster county) Is very big has shopping and close to NJ shore and Phila. Mostly new construction homes. I feel their property taxes are too high and dont like how big the school district is. It is very convient and people who live there have pride about their town.

Deptford(gloucster township) is a small town that I feel is one of the best kept secerts. The township is very into the children. Small schools since there are only 4k in the district. New and old construction. In a great location and I feel you get a lot for your money. The shopping is great.

Blackwood(camden) Has really turned around over the years. Older town but now have new houses on lakes which are very nice. Not too sure about the schools but never heard anything bad.

Personally would stay away from W Deptford. I dont like the fact that there are oil refinery, and swamp land. The whole town is based on new construction and is reasonable for NJ. I just dont like the enviorment conditions. The do have a rec center that is free and offers a lot for the children and the schools are new.

Please note that most of these area you could walk across the street and be in a differnt town or county.

I hope this makes sense
