Anyone Have Experience with Costco Brand Diapers?

My daughter, who just turned 2, has always been in Pampers diapers until about a month ago. I started using Luvs mainly because they are much more affordable than Pampers. I do not really care for the way they fit her and I have had problems with night time leaks. She fits in a size 5 in the Pampers just fine but I think she needs a size 6 in the Luvs and those are impossible to find (she is 30lbs and 36 inches so she is big for her age). So, I was contemplating trying the Costco brand but I really don't want to buy 160 diapers only to find out that I don't like them. Have any of you tried them and did you like them?

So What Happened?

Thanks, everyone, for your advice. I did not know that Costco would return the diapers if you do not like them. That has totally changed my mind about trying them! I am also going to buy a small package of the Target brand and see how they work. I just recently switched to the Target wipes and like them so maybe I will like the diapers, too! Thanks again!

I've been buying Costco diapers (and wipes) for my 2 1/2 year old for a few months now, and I like them a lot. I was also using Pampers before that, and tried Luv's but didn't like the way they fit.
Good luck.

C.,
I haven't had experience with Costco diapers, but I do use the Jewel/Albertsons generic brand of diapers for my 32 lb baby boy. They come in smaller packs that are usually on sale for like 7.99 so you could try them first before buying the case of them for 19.99. Just a thought. ~ K.

I have two boys ages 4 and 2. I used the Costco brand for my older son who was 32 lb and 36 inches at the age of 2 and they worked great. That said however he is totally proportioned differently than his brother and when I tried them for my now 2 year old who is much much smaller they did not work at all. Costco will let you return the opened box though if you do not like them. I use the Target Brand diapers for my son now and they work just fine. You can get a box of 92 in the size four for under $14 (I am not sure how many are in the size 5 box) but my best friend uses the size 5s for her daughter who is about 35lb and 34 inches and she loves them.

Hope you can find something you like!

I have no experience with costco diapers, but I too have a almost 3 year old at 30lbs. I found that the walmart brand (the ones in the blue and white cases, the yellow bag ones stink) work great, they absorb a lot and they have stretchy tabs. I too hate the way luvs fit, and the target brand care Bears also are terrible, they are too tight on the waist.

Hope that helps

I haven't tried the Costco brand but have had good luck with the Target brand. I still use the pampers at night to prevent leaks (one of my twins can even soak thru those!), but find the Target ones to be just fine, even on the odd night when I've had to use them overnight.

I use the Kirkland diapers and I am VERY happy with them. To be honest, sometimes my son is damp by morning, but he hardly wets his diapers during the day - he only seems to pee overnight, so I think it's him and not the diaper. Otherwise, I think they fit great and the price is right. Every baby is shaped differently, so perhaps they won't work as well for you, but if you can return them, it's worth a try. I also really like the Kirkland wipes - they seem more like a cloth and water than others, so it just feels "cleaner" to me. Good luck!

We tried out the Costco brand size 5 with our son and had terrible results. Not any where as good as the Pampers Cruisers we are used to. They leaked at night both times nights we put him in them. We ended up using them only during the day when we could change him often to avoid leaks. I WISH they would have worked!!! We would have appreciated that savings!

I use them with my son and have always been very happy...no leaks, soft, fit well. I do not like the Costco wipes though, they are too thin.

Hello there. I'm the best friend of one of the ladies who already posted, and mentioned me...so thought that I would post my opinion on this too. :) Anyway, my daughter is 2 she's 35 lbs. 36 in. and I use Target Brand diapers. She currently wears a size 5 and they fit fine...never had any problems at all with leaking. You can buy the large box (80 diapers) for $13.79. I have used Target brand diapers since she was just 3 months old and am currently using them for my 6 month old (daughter) as well. I have never had a problem with any of the sizes and am very pleased with the quality and price. And to even add to that...I'm a bargin shopper so have always price compared and Target IS the cheapest of Costco, Walmart, BabiesRUs, etc. (unless of course you have lots of coupons). Oh, and Target has a smaller package you can buy....so maybe you would want to start with that to see if you like them, before buying the box of 80. I also LOVE and use Target wipes...they are great too! I hope this helps you in your decision making. Good Luck!!

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! We tried them and they leaked and when she was wet we could feel it on the outside of the diaper. The cost of diapers went up at my Costco and it is barely worth it to buy them there. I buy the box of Huggies for 19.99 at target, and usually I have a 1.00 or 2.00 coupon.
Good Luck!

We've been using Costco diapers for a few months and have had no problems. They've leaked once, and that was our own fault for not changing her sooner. We do, however, use either a Cruiser or a Huggies Overnight at bedtime because she sleeps for so long. Regular Pampers and Huggies Supreme didn't cut it for overnights either. I have also had good luck with Target brand during the days. The Jewel brand, however, wasn't so great.

If you check the cost per diaper, you may find that the Huggies that Costco sells are slightly cheaper than the Kirklands. That's how it works out for the size 3s at least.

yes, I have. I will say nothing fits like Pampers, in my opinion, but having said that I DO like Costco. I use them during the day and and night I tend to put a pamper on. I save money this way.
Also, Costco will let you return them if you don't like them!

My son is 2 and at 36 lbs. I have the same problem with diapers leaking and tried various brands including Costco. I would not recommend them at all. They don't come in size 6, and size 5 was too small for my son. I also do not think their quality (in terms of absorbancy)is that good.
The only ones I like are the Huggies Supreme diapers, but they are really pricey.

My daughter has used the costco brand since she was one and we love them, never had a problem. They are very similar to Huggies if you have ever tried those.

I use the Costco diapers just fine, but my daughter is in size 4. Maybe they're worse as they get bigger. Have you looked at ordereing from 1800diapers.com Maybe you could stick with the pampers. they are the best.
