My little girl seems to be having a difficult time adjusting to the time change. She is waking up at like noon now and going to bed around 9 or 10 p.m. I was just wondering if any other little ones were having a hard time adjusting to the time change.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We are back on schedule! She seemed to really adjust herself. We are now going to bed by 9:00 each night and waking up by 10:00 in the morning, and she is taking her a good afternoon nap for about 2 hours. We made it!

Every time we have a time change I have to readjust my little ones. Just do it a little each night until she is back on her normal scheduel. It won't take very long.

I know I personally am having a hard time with it. Still not on track, I haven't been taking the kids to daycare since it is Spring break, but I'm sure if they were having to get up early it would be a problem for them also.

Oh my goodness, YES! My daughter had already been giving me issues getting to bed at night and this time change has not helped!! where she used to finally stop fighting me and staying in bed by 10 she's now pushing 11-11:30! and we still need to be out of the house by 8 so for the past 2 days I've been dressing her in her sleep and trying to gingerly wake her up before we actually walk out the door... ::sigh:: who invented this infernal Daylight's Savings time anyway!?!?!

I did the first night. He was up til 10:10pm till he finally gave it up. I blame the time change but he could of had a belly ache from trying fresh bananas too. But, he did sleep later than usual but if you were to figure it up he got up about the same time he did prior to time change. But Sunday night I thought he would never give it up!
GOOD LUCK

My little boy, who turned two Jan 20th is having a hard time with the time change. He usually goes to bed at 8:00 and gets up around 6:30 or 7:00. The past couple of nights it's been 9:30 or 10 and then he sleeps until 9 in the morning. I am feeling the change this time too though, and that has never affected me before. We aren't getting too concerned about him staying up later though. I am going to try getting him to bed a little earlier each night until we have a firm 9:00 bedtime. The evenings are longer in the summer and we'll still have our precious down time after he goes off to bed.

I have a 14 month old daughter and she seems to go to bed just fine at her normal time (8pm), but she is sleeping really late. I had to wake her yesterday and today at 9am. she is usually up by 7:30 or 8. Now, I'm not really complaining because I am getting some time to myself in the mornings, but it just started with the time change.

I would say to try to move bedtime back towards it's normal time by about 20-30 minutes each night until you get back to the normal time. If you do it a little at a time, you can probably get her readjusted within a week or so. Good luck!

Yep!

It's h*** o* everyone, even me!

We have to get up at the same time because my daughter goes to daycare and I go to work. You just have to start waking her up earlier and putting her to bed earlier. Start with like 30 minute increments. For instance if you used to put her to bed at 8pm, then tonight put her to bed at 8:30pm. Then wake her up 30 min later than she normally would get up. Then in a few days bump it up another 30 minutes and you should be right back on track.

Yes! It has been a headache at my house. My 7 year old told me last night that he was tired of waking up when it was dark. I told him he had to because of the time change, he said "well mama, you need to make them change it back". He will get used to it soon enough. He was fine when I let him know that he gets more playtime outside now. He woke up fine this morning, not a word out of him. On the other hand the older two have been dragging around in the morning still. So yes, I have a little one who is having problems and a couple of big ones.

My 17 month old is definitly having a tough time. Usually he hits the ground running the second I drop him off at day care, but yeaterday he took his blanket and paci and sat in the corner. He was just exhuasted! I just put him to bed at his usual time (6:00) and wake him up at the normal time (between 6:15 and 6:45) and I figure that by the end of the week he will be adjusted. Even this morning I noticed a difference, he was already much more alert and ready to go. He got to sleep in a little bit because I'm home sick from work, but his energy definitly seems to be returning. I'm sure if you just keep your daughter on her regular schedule her body will regulate itself on its own.
