Hello ladies,
We have been TTC for about 8 months and I just recently started using the Clearplan fertility moniter(thanks to Amy G, she's awesome) and found out that I am ovulating much later than what I had thought like day 21, 22. I am getting my period then like day 31,32 so I suspect that my progestrone may be low. Any ladies have any experience with this???

I have very low progesterone. It is crazy!! I was on bed rest almost my entire pregnancy with my 3 year old. Now I am pregnant with twins, I am taking a progesterone medication and I am on minor bedrest. Progesterone can be tough!

Hi H.. I am also TTC, and am using a Progesterone Cream to help out. It took us 3 years to get pregnant with my frist child, and now he is nearly 3 years old. We've been TTC since October, but nothing yet. However, I do know people who've used Progesterone Cream to help them conceive and had it work for them. I represent Arbonne International, and we actually carry a natural Progesterone Cream. It's what I'm using. Here's some information about this product for you:

Arbonne's Prolief Natural Balancing Cream
A botanically-based cream for men and women who want the benefits of a balancing cream without the added herbs, and one that’s packaged in a precisely-metered pump.

Key Ingredients: Sweet almond and sunflower oils, aloe, USP progesterone

Skin Types: All

I have been TTC for 4 months now and I recently started using www.fertilityfriend.com which is helping me to understand everything a lot more. I seem to have a very similar cycle to you. I have one child now which is almost miraculous since I rarely had periods before he came along. So yes, I think I do have low progesterone, but honestly haven't yet felt the need to consult a doc. Would love to chat with you more if you are interested. Feel free to PM me.

HEY... I know what you are going through!!! I have a 4 year old boy and we finally got lucky with a beautiful baby girl who is 4 months!!! After many miscarriages I was finally refered to a fertility doctor. After 3 months of testing we finally started shots called Bravelle. He did all this to make sure we had great eggs and the right hormones. From 3 days after I ovulated till I was 16 weeks pregnant I had to use a progesterone suppository EVERY night!!! I think you should try talking to your doctor. I feel that if it were not for those progesterone things I would not have my beautiful baby girl. I also feel that the only reason I got pregnant with my son without a problem was cause I was on the pill for 8 years then stopped and 1 month later I was pregnant...I think it was only cause I still had all those hormones in there!!! Well GOOD LUCK!!! Keep trying (that's the fun part!!!)

Hi H.,
I am not so sure that is a sign of low progesterone..you may want to find the book "Taking Control of your fertility". It is great and explains how it is not uncommon for women to ovulate later than the days 14-18 that doctors tell us. I found the book very helpful---and I haven't read past chapter 2 (it is on loan right now).

Just wanted to share this book.

I second Kelly's recommendation on the 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility'. I have been using this book to conceive and not conceive for years.

My actual cycle is only 25 days long... not everyone will be 28 days. And, actually most women are not. This book will allow you to track your temps and vaginal fluids to determine when you ovulate and when is your most fertile days. I got pregnant using this method 6 times. I was unable to carry those babies to term, and have recently seen a fertility specialist because I have blood clotting issues. We are now 24+ weeks pregnant with our first baby girl.

It seems that you have been able to conceive before, so I would suspect you just need to get an idea of where you are in your cycle.

Good luck!

Jodi

I was not able to conceive without any help. My cycle was all over the place and at times I had to get a progestrone shot just to get my period. After one dose of clomid I did get pregnant, however, I had to take progesterone pills for a bit during my pregnancy, because the level stayed low. My son is now 2 and we are taking about trying for a second. Good Luck!

HI H.
I used the Clearplan monitor too and if I remember right I was ovulating later than I had thought. I've always suspected that I have low progesterone too. I used the monitor for a long time and never did get pregnant using it. We decided to adopt and haven't tried to get pregnant again so I probably have some fertility issues too. I'm not really sure since we didn't pursue getting pregnant.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
A.
