Hello,
I am reading the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility and I was wondering if any of you use FAM? I'm almost done with the book and still a little confused. I'm not really understanding where to draw the line..... And even some of the charting seems a little confusing on paper....

My question is: Should I just go ahead and start charting next month or do I re-read the whole book and try to get a better handle on it? Does it get easier as you go? We're actaully interested in using the method to GET PREGNANT, so I guess it's not a huge deal if I don't totally understand it from the beginning??? Right?

Have any of you gotten pregnant using this method? Any other thoughts or comments on FAM? Thanks for your help.

What can I do next?

Just like the other poster...I highly recommend www.fertilityfriend.com I never fully understood how to do the charting myself and this free website does it for you!
I have been using it for 5 1/2 years...I used it to prevent pregnancy for over 3 years and now just use it to track my cycles. I haven't picked back up with temping since I had my little one 19 months ago.

I did read that book and it was way too confusing to me. I actually took a one on one class with Twin Cities Fertility with Janet (whom I LOVE!). The cost is based on a sliding scale and it includes 8 sessions. It was great. I learned all about my cycle, ovulation, how to prevent pregnancy and how to get pregnant. I really really recommend even just calling. They are great! They have been able to help couples who were determined "infertile" get pregnant within two months of using their program. Amazing results! http://www.tcnfp.org/

I hate charting so I never did it :) We successfully used FAM to get pregnant and as a form of birth control. I remember just getting used to my body's changes every month and it didn't take long for me to recognize when I was fertile.
I never did any temperature readings or anything like that. I loved that book, though! Even knowing when I was ovulating, it still took 4 months to conceive my daughter.
It's a perfect time to learn the method if you are TTC! No room for so called "error" :)
Have fun trying!
ps. I can TOTALLY relate to your barn cat problem! ;)

I'm not sure what FAM is, but I used charting to get pregnant. I highly recommend www.fertilityfriend.com because they do all the charting for you! Very simple...
