My kids & I have all been sick for the past week. My son started with a fever that lasted for 10 days before it was over. Now my baby seems to have all the same symptoms without the fever, horrible cough, congestion, fatigue, and her little eyes are all gooey. I know they don't want babies to have any over the counter cold medicine. I just feel so bad for her, because she looks so miserable. She has a Dr appt this afternoon. I'm looking for suggestions to make her feel better since I can't give her a decongestant.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you for your responses. I took her in yesterday and they gave her antibiotics for her eyes and regular antibiotics. I just hate to see her so miserable. I've been using saline & putting her in the tub. She just really doesn't want to stay in there too long. She just wants me to hold her which is fine with me.

They have prescription decongestant they can give kids. My daughter(she's 1) had a horrible sinus infectio a couple of weeks ago..fever, green goo coming out of her eyes the works, and they prescribed her Ceron...it's the generic for something else, and it really helped to make her more comfy until the antibiotics really kicked in.

Check with your Doctor because mine would let me give my daughter pediacare or children's bendryl. so call and find out.

Hello C.,

Little noses saline, follow directions for babies on bottle or ask Doc.
When my son was a little stuffy I put him in the bathroom while I showered, the steam helped. My oldest has only been sick once, with an ear and nose thing and it did not last long. I take my children to a great Chiropractor, if you would like any info on the chiropractic office that I take them to let me know. It really helps and is a great for preventative care.

Have her play in the bathroom while you take a nice, hot, steamy shower.....the steam will loosen everything up and make her feel better.
